Had to share, LegalBlonde has just called this the SCABBY DONKEY saga! What a fantastic name. Title for the story, "Blazing Donkey? More like Scabby Donkey!" Brilliant! It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

Why thank you Jackie!
I came on here to post as I really did read and run earlier, well not so much read and run but read, be exhausted, and watch 3 episodes of 4 weddings in my newly-engaged status....
OP what can I say, well done, you and your OH really are an inspiration!! As you can probably tell by my name I am in the business, but half way through your thread today there was a stage where I probably would have given in. It really makes me sick that there are people like this out there, and really really well done. I can't really say enough in words for you, so I just hope and pray your special day is the one you deserve, and thanks for sharing your story for the benefit of others xDebt Free Wannabe by 1 January 2016

beks A friend of mine has just emailed this to me. I thought you might like it bearing in mind what you and your OH have been going through.
Two Travelling Angels
Two travelling angels stopped to spend the night in the home of a wealthy family. The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay in the mansions guest room. Instead they were given a small space in the cold basement. As they made their bed on the hard floor the older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it.When the younger angel asked why, the older angel replied"things are not always what they seem".
The next night the pair came to rest at the house of a very poor farmer and his wife. After sharing the little food that they had they let the angels sleep in their bed. When the sun came up next morning the angels found the farmer and his wife in tears as their cow lay dead in the field. The younger angel was infuriated and asked the older angel how could you let this happen?
The first man had everything, yet you helped him, the second had little but was willing to share and yet you let the cow die. "Things are not always what they seem" the older angel replied.
When we stayed in the mansion I noticed there was gold stored in the hole in the wall, since the owner was obsessed with greed, I sealed the wall so he would not find it.Then last night as we slept in the farmers bed, the angel of death came for his wife and I gave him the cow instead.
"Things are not always what they seem.Sometimes this is what happens when things don't turn out the way they should, you just need to trust that every outcome is always to your advantage. You just might not know it until some time later.........................

CONGRATULATIONS Beks XX Well done I am so pleased you got your money back of that disgusting little man at The Blazing Donkey, Ham, Kent. Name and shame I say, go to the papers now.
Had my Brothers wedding on Saturday in Wales but he's from Kent and told all his friends about the venue!!! Most knew of it and we're shocked.
Beks hope you don't mind me mentioning this but Anyone in South Wales don't bother booking your venue at The Llantrisant and Pontyclun Golf Club, not only did they try and cancel it, but they we're really awkward before hand, didn't set everything up as planned, nibbles on the tables were Chewy sweets, bare in mind I'm 45 soon, so my Aunts are late 60's!! And hardly any food all for a £1000. I'M DISGUSTED. Thinking of Trading Standards now as nothing like they say on their web site!
Your an inspiration to us all!!0 -
So......
What's the name of this place again that we should avoid? I don't seem to be able to see the Name of the venue anywhere here:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0 -
Thanks all ... but I dont think I am gonna win the battle with OH to publicise. He just does not want to do it.
DebA - thank you and sorry to hear that your problems with your venue continued. IF your brother didnt get what was stated then definitely worth a letter to the venue at least and a call to trading standards to see where you stand.
Thanks hunnycat and salesadmin and congrats legalblonde - scabby donkey??!! I like it!!
And neneromanova ... did you not catch the name of this horrific wedding venue???
..... it was
