Freecycle have had a bit of a reshuffle this last 2 weeks with a lot of local groups having to come out and rename for legal reasons. A lot are now going under the umbrella name of "Freegle" Our local group has and a lot of our neighbouring groups have.:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

I read the Guardian article...such a shame that Americans(I am generalising of course) still think they are the only ones allowed to have a say in running things! It would appear that the Big Man is now only interested in profiteering from and gagging freecycle groups in the UK(and who knows where else).
Freecycle is a fantastic tool -if abused at times-to save stuff from landfill, and a great by product of this is helping others less fortunate who otherwise would be without.
A great many groups are now flying under the freegle banner, all but 1 of the groups I am a member of have changed over, without me having to do anything) and the other group I suspect will be changing over soon.

i love my freecycle too - have given away many things to new homes.
last night was the best though - collected a 'print' for my wall off a fellow freecycler, got it home and realised that it was actually an original signed painting and having just googled it the artists work sells for anything between £400 and £1500. question is do i let the person i got it off know what they have done (they found it in the street theirselves) ?? or keep mum about it???0 -

Ipswich/Suffolk South East pulled out of Freecycle.... no idea why, the new group is run as IpswichRecycle and a member of freegle.... a tad annoyed it happened with no warning and we were transferred automatically to the new group.

I've noticed a real drop in Daily Digest emails since my group pulled out of Freecycle- down from 4/5/6 a day to 1-2.
Not sure why as it's still the same great system!0
