Freecycle dilemma! Hiya, just put 3 items on freecycle, a tv a computer and footspa and get an email from someone saying she wants all 3. Do you think a, she genuinely needs all 3; b, she wanst to sell them on or c, she's a hoarder?
She was the first to reply, should I give her all 3?
Opinions greatly appreciated!Happy, Happy, Happy!0 -
Does it matter? Do you just want rid or do you want the warm and glowing feeling of knowing your items went to someone truly deserving?
Personally I couldn't give a fig if a user sells it on or whatever as long as its out of my sight.0 -
How much could you get anyway if you sold
crt tv - worthless, if its small and working with remote then maybe £10
foot spa - £5
computer - depends on spec but £200 -
My only thought would be if you are not in a rush to send on, you could limit your items to one per responder so you feel more households benefit from the goods. If you do not like the idea of a re-sale, you potentially limit chances to single figures too.Marry a Foreigner, its so much cheaper!0

Personally. I'd wait and see what other response you get.
I always wait a couple of days and look at the nature of the e-mails I get. If they don't ask nicely they don't get.
That's a no from me.
Some people have auto e-mails set for when anything is offered and get them before the full list goes out.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

At the moment, they are your items so do what you think is best.
Freecycle says you don't have to give to the first person who replies.....obvioulsy, many people are out in the day and do not have the opportunity to reply straight away, so the recommend waiting for a bit (say until the evening if you don't mind keep the items for a bit) then look through the replies and decide then.If you only give her one item, it is still better than nothing at all.
I have to admit, it is a shame on freecycle to see people taking everything sometimes, sometimes it is genuine, like someone who moves into an unfurnished house and needs furnature, other times it is not, this is usually when people have 3 more unrelated items they want.
If you just want them gone, then yeah maybe let them have it all if you don't mind the doubt you have.
I hope this helps.

I have had simler requests when I posted 8 various items on one post which nobody could possible need all items. I ignored the request for all the items and offered to people who asked for a couple and all were collected. I have also offered to people who have then never collected.0

I personally think its a bit cheeky asking for all three items. I think he/she might be hoping to sell them on. I would let them go individually if possible. Last week I was offered two digiboxes by a freecycler after I asked for one but I would have felt guilty taking both and told the lady to keep the other one for someone else.0

I've not used freecycle much but I am suscribed to the e-mails. In Ireland where I live the people who offer multiple things often insist that one person has to take it all. I can only assume this is to avoid having to wait home all day for 4 different people to call.Total debt 11/1/2011 €5350.65Total debt 12/12/12 €3222.31CrazyClothesChallenge 2013 #006 €34.08/€5000

She could geniunely want/need all 3. It's up to you how much trust you have in that person that they need the item.
I've never had any luck getting anything I needed through Freecycle so I'm sure she'd be happy to recieve anything0
