Sorry to say Juby, you dug yourself into this hole with your self-righteous comments, don't try playing the 'You've upset me' sympathy card.

How about the people you've upset by making them feel lile they're bad parents because they don't agree with/can't afford being ripped of by being told they have to buy overpriced logoed uniform and haven't been lucky enough to get their child into the school of their choice.

I've got to agree. You're just making yourself look worse. Agree to disagree here. It's going round in circles.

And how on earth is Amistoso jealous of you?

OMG, envy will get you no-where in life. i DID have a bet on sophie, lying about that would just be so pathetic, just as pathetic as some-one doubting me due to envy:rotfl:

i could have just blown my winnings on crap, but no, i use my head and think of the long term and knew id struggle in coming months. so i paid the ONLY debt i have off.

why is that so god damn hard to believe.

    jeez, some people on here.

im not trying to play any sympathy card at all.

if i could buy her uniform cheaper from anywhere i would (apart from shoes), but i dont have that choice so just get on with it and budget so i can afford it.

i also think that people on low incomes or benefits (who-ever it applies to) should get more help. my neighbour gets £26 school grant.

budgeting and saving for uniform never hurt anyone, thats what im saying. if the school has no alternitive then all you can do is buy it.

im being made to feel like you all think im a snob, im the least snobbiest person you could meet. i am really down to earth and love having a joke around.

i am truly sorry if my posts came across as people are being bad parents, i didnt mean it like that,

    ((((waves white flag))))

And for the record, I don't think most schools bother themselves with selling on second hand uniform. I know niethrr of the schools my three kids go to do that.

Then why don't you set up a scheme for it; it doesn't always have to be down to other people.

Thanks jackieb, I am so not jealous.
Me and my hubby work very hard at our business, I drive a 59 plate shogun elegance, live in a mortgage free house and go on several hols a year (I'm making a point here not bragging so bear with me)
I need to buy uniforms for my kids and beleive it or not I don't think that paying £15 for a school jumper for a kid who's gonna get it covered in paint and glue etc is sensible. I have boys who have the knees out of ther trousers by pretending to be David Beckham during lunch break!!!
so again spending a fortune on 1 pair would just not make sense.
My point is I'm lucky enough to beable to afford the more expensive stuff but refuse to buy it for the reasons I've just mentioned.
when someone has 3 or more kids to kit out the cost just gets out of control. Your comments were aimed to make the OP feel like he was a bad parent for not abiding by the school rules, but he bought uniforms in the school colours and made sure his kids had all they needed.
Lets see how smug you are next year if you and hubby haven't managed to find jobs (I'm not wishing that on you, I hope you both get sorted)
When you haven't got 2 pennies to rub together we'll see how quick you are to judge this issue then shall we?

    OK, rant over lol

Fair enough, but please spare a thought for those who have more than 1 child to kit out, it's not always that easy for them, and there's the fact that kids grow so sometimes you need to replace things that are too small or has been damaged. All I'm saying is everyone should have a choice, surely that's only fair and reasonable?
