i dont like paying for water or a tv licence when i dont watch a tv, but i have to,,, its called life, deal with it.
I think you'll find that owning a TV is entirely optional (and a TV licence is only required if you have one). On that note, why are you paying for a TV licence if you don't have a TV?
The OP has indicated that he has no choice but to buy his children's school uniform from the school shop, (and nowhere else), at vastly inflated prices. That's not choice, that's what's termed as a monopoly. It's wouldn't have not wouldn't of, shouldn't have not shouldn't of and couldn't have not couldn't of. Geddit?0 -

Oh for goodnes sake, surely you must be able to see the irony.
There's that particular poster spouting about how they wouldn't hesitate spending whatever it costs to kit out a child in logoed school uniform, even if it costs £600 for 3 children, we all must do what we must do because we chose where to send our children (even if some didn't make the choice) blah blah blah....and the whole time she's got herself into £1300 worth of debt, presumably buying things she didn't have the money for because she was buying logoed school uniform, and then allegedly pays of the debt by gambling.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

What a ridiculous thread. This is really going around in circles! Being willing to be ripped off by one overpriced uniform supplier does not make you a better parent. My kids education is very important to me. I budget the cost of uniform through the year and my kids always go to school in the appropriate smart uniform. However I am still cross at having to pay £20 for a schoolblouse that is not as wellmade as one I could get from a high street store and will not last long enough to pass down.
And for the record, I don't think most schools bother themselves with selling on second hand uniform. I know niethrr of the schools my three kids go to do that.TWBM 2010: 1) LCD TV 2)Hamper 3)Cash

aye OK luv, and if Charlie had won I'm sure you'd have had a bet on him, same with Siavash and Rodrigo I'm sure.
No one has said that school uniforms aren't a must, if you could possibly be bothered to drag yourself away from William Hill and read the thread properly you'd have got by now that it's the lack of an alternative to the one who is charging very high prices that is the issue, but I'm thinking this is a lost cause on you:rolleyes:
OMG, envy will get you no-where in life. i DID have a bet on sophie, lying about that would just be so pathetic, just as pathetic as some-one doubting me due to envy:rotfl:
i could have just blown my winnings on crap, but no, i use my head and think of the long term and knew id struggle in coming months. so i paid the ONLY debt i have off.
why is that so god damn hard to believe.
jeez, some people on here.0 -

excuse me,
can i just jump in while your slagging me off.
i buy the uniform because i know its a must whatever the cost,,
i got the debt when (hubby and i) was working and able to make the monthly payments hassle free.
we got made redundant (worked at same place) and for the past 10 weeks or so we have been living off savings and the bit of redundancy money we got with out claiming benefits.
i made the bet in the first week of big brother so i was able to financially.
god sake, people jumping on me here for putting my daughters uniform before my debt,,,,,, would you all be happy if i ignored my daughters needs and paid my debt. sent her to school in the wrong uniform, school shoes that no-longer fit.......... no bet some of you would then be saying ``oh social services need to be involved``` or words to that effect because some of you all on here just pick on people and go out of your way to upset people.
and i bet you are all sat laughing now reading this, well thats just the mentalitly of some people.
well done, you upset some one on a forum,,,,,how proud and fullfilled you must fell:T0
