That makes perfect sense, why did I never think of it? Of course!

Right, off for a cuppa mint tea! And I'll drink it slowly.

Goodness, this thread is a mine of information...

lol: its not easy though. I get thristy, and still drink bucket loads of water at a time. DH sometimes gets me to do it like a party drink.:o:o so I'm aware this is something I should work on.

I'm going to join you with some tea though....I'll have a Pukka Protect tea. :D

Alexnikov, well done mate!!! That is amazing. What are you doing? Because, whatever it is, it's working! C'mon, share some tips :D

    Thanks :D

I don't think I'm doing anything special (and I'm still eating way too much bread :o ) I'm just eating a lot less than I used to - half a portion of rice rather than a big portion, smaller slices of bread rather than normal sized, that kind of thing.

I've banned myself from having sweets and cakes/biscuits because I know I can't trust myself to just have a small amount, I'll scoff the whole packet. Similarly to AdrianHi, I don't have very much fruit (it just makes my stomach feel empty) so am working lots of veg into my main meal to try and hit the 5-a-day.

Oh and I'm walking a lot more which is probably helping a wee bit.

It's just willpower really. I am slightly gobsmacked at myself for sticking to it as I've never been able to before but I like the feeling of getting thinner more than I like the temporary pleasure of sweets or cakes so I'm sticking at it.

Maybe TMI, but well done anyway!!!

I'm doing ok today, have had an apple so far with low fat Greek yog to come.

I have also bought a large bar of v. dark choc - I don't really like the stuff, but my colleague promises me that one tiny square is so rich that I won't want any more. If it takes away my chocolate cravings I'll be thrilled!

I find that dark chocolate is more satisfying than milk or white choc. Bendicks do dark chocolate in mini bars which are individually wrapped, although I've had trouble locating them in shops recently. For sugar cravings I find that chewing on some sugar-free gum really helps alleviate the cravings.

I think that you're right. Tara you may be about to find out whether its a chocolate craving or a sugar craving you're experiencing. Good luck, have the ironing to hand tonight!

That's it, that's were I got to in my head this year February and why I have stuck with it. Brain in control of calorie intake and not appetite. Also being smart about what you eat and when puts less strain on your will power.
There are lots of benefits to being thinner, this one comes to mind :D:ohttp://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1568024/losing_weight_improves_your_sex_life.html

You have so hit the nail on the head!!! Absolutebounder said something similar in another thread (people who are gaining weight feel that the temporary pleasure of eating chocolate etc outweighs the pain of getting fatter and it is only when the pain starts to outweigh the pleasure that we get serious about weight loss). He said it slightly differently but he was totally correct. Again, well done you. Did you feel hungry at the start with eating less and has that eased?

Yes, to a point. I used to be very very thin, DH points out sex is more ''comfortable'' now, fewer ouchy bone hits bone moments. Really, I think a good moderate weight (neither overweight nor underweight) is best for that, as well as health etc. I'd like to hit the point where I'm built for both speed and comfort :D

    Good morning all!!

Weigh in day for me today  and as i though, ANOTHER 2lb on!!!

I am really, really disapointed with myself.

BUT, i am determined to lose 7lb this month!
DD is back at school on monday, so will be walking most day's, DH is on his hols this and next week so, will still have to be careful as he is a one for cooking eggs or bacon sarnies for brekkie/lunch, or going to the bakers for a bagette and cakes.....Mmmmm....NO, NOT FOR ME THOUGH!!!!!

I am hopeing that i can lose 4lb's next week so that i hit my 4st target - AGAIN. I am now back to 20st and NO WAY am i going back over it!!!!!

I am just sitting here thinking that it's getting near lunch time, and wondering why my stomach is growling........could it be that i've not had breakfast?? I've been busy this morning with everyone at home at the moment, as i normally have breakfast after i come back from my weigh in, but i bathed ds and cut his hair, and hoovered and tidied up......yawn....and totally forgot to feed and water myself, even when everyone else had their snack an hour ago!! oh well, will have a little extra with my lunch today to make up for it or i will get the munchies later on.

Sorry for the ramble :o, have a good day one and all and keep up the brilliant work!

    Posh xx

Ps.... i was a way over the weekend at the seaside so this is the main reason for the weight gain - naughty but nice!!!

Absolutely, don't need any boney bits.
Despite the impression glossy magazines and USA dress size 0 catwalk models might portray curves is much much more exciting (to a man) even if it means an extra inch than really neccessary around the waist.
Just dug this out of caloriecount.about.com, there's a comment from me on there http://caloriecount.about.com/skinny-girls-here-b268962
