You never know. The BBC weather forecast was showing a dark cloud with a rain drop for Blackpool last Saturday and Sunday, and but for a small amount of greyness and drizzle early on Saturday evening, we had stunning weather which held out all the way to Sunday lunchtime (then it bucketed down)

:rotfl: I bet you love that :rotfl:

My dad's not all that close with his family and a lot of them hadn't seen him for decades prior to my grannie's funeral last year, on which occasion they all started saying to each other "ooooh, doesn't he look like Reg?" (his dad who's been dead since 1982) :D

morning everyone. i've not been on the daily thread much lately..... being snowed under at w**k and been getting a bit down about coping with it all. but today is much better (after being upset last night!) and things are looking up - still lots to do, but reasonable time frames and more organisation and i feel like i'm back in control!

i'm also excited that all my window boxes have started to take off - there's pot of rocket that's growing really well, and i've had to thin out the carrots since so many shoots came up. i also have a long box with chives, basil and coriander - one of them hasn't come up, but i didn't put the labels in so it might be basil, might be corriander and i won't know til they start to get bigger!

anyway, hope everyone is good and enjoying the sunshine!

Can I join OS? What are the criteria?! Do I need to post on the ‘getting to know you’ thread?

I’m a regular browser, but you folk have inspired me to get going, so here’s my first post on the daily board. We make our own bread by hand, not a BM in sight, and also brew our own beer.

I was late getting up this morning, but I tidied the kitchen and wiped all the surfaces and cleaned the hob with soda crystals. Watered my herbs (growing on kitchen windowsill, but probably warm enough to go outside now). I did mean to unstack the DW (Yes I know, not very OS, but it goes on once a day and keeps us tidy - we’re not naturally tidy people), and put the WM on but was running too late to have time. I go home for lunch, so I’ll try to do it then.

We’re going to do a freezer audit and create a meal planner this evening, as our shopping is a bit hit-and-miss otherwise.

    Breakfast: Toast (HM Bread)
    Lunch: HM Veg Soup
Tea: Turkey Cassoulet (Turkey was from the reduced to clear section and I made three batches and froze them)

Have a nice day everyone – it’s lovely and sunny here, shouldn’t have to work!

Hi all :( I have a huge apology to make to everyone who is supporting me, this morning I caved in and had a cigarette :(

As some of you know I am fighting a debt collection agency who want nearly £13,000 from me. My ex-husband who took out the debt with me as co-signature (making me jointly liable) is more than willing to pay the debt but when it was sold on they somehow did not receive his details only mine, so they ignore him and harrass me because I am still in the property.

Last week I sent them a letter asking them for copies of the original paperwork and details of when it was sold to them etc etc and enclosed a £1 postal order for admin fees as advised.

This morning I have found out they have ignored the letter completely and used the £1 postal order as payment off the debt, thus making it appear that I admit the debt and am making minimal payments towards it. I have an appointment with CAB but was so tired and frustrated with banging my head against a brickwall that I automatically reached for the fags.

So after getting the nicotine out of my body I am now back to square one and to make it worse the ciggie made me feel awful, sick and dizzy with my heart racing. I am such a prat :(

(((moggins))) I'm not surprised you had a ciggie hon xxx

Housework wise, I have done the kitchen. Will mop it before I go to bed though or it'll get mucky later when the kids are traipsing in & out.

Done the living room which was a big job with the amount of junk that needed sorting. I am going back down to dust & hoover it.

Have done 3 loads of washing as well so far today as the weather is wonderful!

Right want to finish living room, hall/landing & bathroom before school pick up time!

    Hello to everyone. Welcome Georgina.

(((Moggins))). Get back on the wagon. One slip up doesn't mean you are a failure. It just means it may take a bit longer. ;) Be proud of what you have achieved, and start again, not quite at square one.

(((Elona))). I really feel for you. It's tough having a loved one at the hospital indefinitely. Sounds like you are doing your best for your dad to support him. Please look after yourself as you will need to keep your strength up.

It's been a good OS day. DH was at home with me until 11:30 so he could accompany me to the midwife, which went very well, and i didn't even pass out after all my blood tests.

We have 3 loads of washing on the line, and another in the WM waiting to be sorted. We did a bit of weeding, and DH dug the dandelions out of the lawn. I knocked some OJ over in the drawer of the fridge, so it had to be removed and cleaned, so i did the rest of the fridge while i was there. I also washed the sides down in the kitchen. Plus garlic watered, and growing at a tremendous rate. Bills paid and finances thought about. Must speak to DH and ask for him to organise a cheque for his wages.

I had a great biore freebie this morning of a blackhead removing strip and a little moisturiser. So a few quids worth of stuff if i were to buy it. I'm really pleased as the biore stuff actually works and is reasonably priced.

Plan for the afternoon. Take advantage of being off work by marking all of my y10 exam papers. We are talking about 70 kids here, so it may take a while. Mark my y7 kids h/w. Plan my 2 lessons for tomorrow for y10. I have a vague idea of what i want to do, so i hope it won't take too long. Plan my revision lesson for tomorrow night. Get some more SAT papers marked. (i've only done 20 up to now so 680 to go.)

Tea will be jacket spuds with chilli. Think i might have some beans on toast or soup for lunch.

Enjoy the sunshine everyone. Have a fab day.

    Michelle, xx
