    Good Afternoon All

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOPHIESMUM & MSE MARTIN.Have a great day:beer:

Well had quite productive day here even though was in a meeting for 2 hours this am. Popped to the Library whilst in town and picked up a couple more bits for DD's school trip - she seems co be coping with the sats ok so far but cant wait for the end of sats party at school Fri afternoon.

Hoovered the downstairs this pm which is my dreaded job and takes me nearly an hour so am glad thats done, going to cook tea (steak & chips) in a min then relax in the bath with my new library book for an hour.

Finished all my filing yesterday!!! And hope to start using my Microsoft Money that i bought ages ago. Only thing that has annoyed me today is that the weather forcast was heavy rain all day so didnt do any washing and its 22 out there bright sunshine. Oh well never mind.

Well must go - hope you all have a lovely evening.

PS Catznine - it takes me about a week to get back to normal from America - I force myself up an hour earlier each day - unlike my friend (who went with us) her husb would come home from work to find her and her kids asleep at 4pm - then they would be up till gone midnight.

    Hi everyone
Just wanted to say thanks for all the birthday wishes.
Having a lovely birthday so far, lots of pressies I actually wanted and lots of lovely cards etc from the residents of the sheltered scheme where I work.
DH had given me the money to buy the kenwood chef I wanted and I was telling one of my residents about this. Ten minutes later she called at my office with brand new boxed kenwood chef with all extras which she had been bought last year as a gift and had not wanted. Woo Hoo!!!!:j
So now I have kenwood chef and still have birthday money to spend on something else.
Having a party at scheme tonight as they say I have officially joined the over the hill mob at 40. Should be about 50 or so there,i have managed to do the catering really cheaply and paid for out of money I have saved over past two weeks doing packed lunch challenge on DFW forum. £70 spent including, huge birthday cake £10 from Costco,3 boxes cheap wine for oldies and 24 cans of carling, we still have quite a healthy "bar" left from an event at Easter to use up.This is my first OS party and so far I am quite pleased with how things are going. There is enough food prepared to feed an army so now I am off to chill and have a nice soak in the bath before it all begins.

Hello all  Hello Beer, you lovely fella! :kisses3: Great to see you here in my little home-from-home! Congrats on giving up the coffin nails, best of luck to you with it!

Well, today has been busy busy with one thing or another - but the revelation of today has been how satisfying it is, vacuuming with a cleaner that actually picks up all the crud that's on our carpets .. and the icing on the cake is that it didn't cost us a bean, as it came from Freecycle. :j Fabulous.

I was intending on making a batch of lentil and sweet potato casserole, involving the chicken stock from the slow cooker roast chicken we had at the weekend, but just ran out of time. However, as I put it in the freezer for fear of it going manky before I can make the most of it, I discovered a long lost already-frozen pot of stock in there already! So that can be pressganged into use when I get around to it, in the interests of circulating freezer stocks .. literally.

I used (much diluted, before anyone has a fit) Stardrops to clean the birdie cage, today. It looks marvellous and Blaze & Lemony seem very impressed at the fun they're going to have, reducing it back to looking like a dustbin. It even shifted the bits of chilli pepper that Blaze had flung at the wall, without shifting the paint! Not bad going, considering how corrosive chilli peppers can be.

Right well, I've a few items left on my in-bra memory list to do today (bring laundry in, feed dogs & GPig, put BM on, do dishes), so I'd best jump to it, then I can settle down with a cuppa and my knitting. Dear god, I'm old before my time. :rotfl:

Happy birthday, all you birthday peeps!
:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:

    Evening

Well I havent done any of my course:o but I did managed to sew 2 buttons on DD's summer dress that came off. My hands were killing me but I did it:j DD was very proud of me:D She read to me whilst I did them.

Asda shop arrived and have moaned about a few items. Also the delivery driver gave me a wrong bag containing 2 large bottles of Balsamic vinegar, Ibruprofen and some Dove soap. I called the helpline (saynoto0870) and they have said I can keep the products and they will refund me the items Ive moaned about;) Funny thing is that, I love Dove products and was going to get some soap using my Boots points next week and was debating about the Balsamic vinegar because of the expense but you dont need as much IYSWIM...and now I have all of them for free....how strange:confused:

OH has done a grand job on the skirting. He is doing abit more tomorrow and has been invited by one of his mates to go golf as well. Not costing anything...well apart from a drink probably on the 19th hole, but he asked if it was ok..bless him. Have SIL here anyway so no problems and he deserves a break from me:eek: He has also managed to get rid of his old tropical fish tank to another mate. He said they could have it and he asked if DD needed anything, so they have agreed on some kind of voucher for her-to put towards school stuff:D plus it has cleared some room in his office.

Stew was lovely and tasty and theres enough for 2 portions in the freezer, or tomorrows lunch.

Have to go as DD wants me to wash her hair and will take me 5mins to get upstairs on the poxy stairlift:D

    Part of the Furniture
    Evening.

I've had another hectic day, so i'm sat with my feet up. DH is going to pick up an indian takeaway for our dinner, and i can't wait. I'm going to have a quick power nap before he gets back i think.

I managed to turn the alarm clock off this morning without noticing, but luckily woke up 5 minutes later anyway so no harm done. I am still really tired. I'm looking forward to my lay in tomorrow as i don't have to be at the drs till 10:30, and DH is taking the morning off work to come with me. At last, some 'quality' time.:rotfl: We are both working too hard i think. I've still brought loads of work home to do tomorrow, and i'm just going to try and get through it so i'm less busy at the weekend. Plus do some housework as i haven't done any really for quite a few days.

best go as i need to sort out some plates and try to have my power nap. Hope you are all well.

    Hi everyone!
Not too much OS today as worked until 3 and then back here for the late evening. However did get the bathroom cleaned.
Good news on the BM front- it's still in guarantee period so will have a free repair.
Have managed to put some money into my pin money account for the first time [exceeded my monthly goal of £10 for April so will up it to £15 for May] and OH and I were organised last night and set up our NSI ISAs [Martin's tip] OH has got a big 3 day show in Kensington this weekend and then hopefully after that we will have a bit more time to swap suppliers, redecorate the kitchen, paint the garage door, plant some veggies...OMG where's the wine. I feel faint just reading that!!
I have discovered that my Mummy has been sneaking on the OS board...I bang on about it that much!! She mysteriously asked me what the Stardrops bottle looked like and then it transpired that she had been reading a certain thread so hello Mummy!! She better not clear the shelves in Wilko!
Was dead chuffed yesterday because just happened to wander into the charity shop and found a paperback in mint condition for £2 which will be perfect for a pressie so have snaffled that away. May is an expensive month for me as it's my Dad b'day this weekend [picked up a CD in a sale for him so will get him some other goodies to go with it] and the small person's birthday. Have been organised and made a HM cake for Dad which is in the freezer and we made a card on the pc last night using some photos we took last autumn.
Better stop now- have a good evening

Made a huge quiche for tea which even my choosy DDs loved and said how nice it was.

Just come back from visiting dad in hospital - every day it seems to get worse! He was suppossed to be starting chemotherapy today but it seems he needs more blood transfusions first. He has already had seven pints!

He had a fall in the bathroom as we arrived and needed the nurses to get him sorted out and put back to bed. It gave him a real shock and he has bruised his side.

Got his washing churning in the machine as we speak - good job I got him three exra pairs of pyjamas and managed to find a pair of slippers with open backs so they should fit better.

Came on here to cheer myself up so I do not upset the family.
