Morning all
Back at w**k today but still sitting here with a big grin on my face thanks to memories of Blackpool
Soaking wet day in London - and the soggy state of my feet was not helped much by the fact that I had to search Borough High Street for a working cash machine (I came back from Blackpool with the grand total of 58p in my purse) and stepped in several puddles before finding one (the fifth one I'd tried )
Hope everybody who didn't come to Blackpool has been having an OK weekend - last night I did skim the daily threads from Friday lunchtime onwards but I won't have taken all of it in! MushyPeas - sorry to hear about your broken heart ((((hugs))))
Shez - the pics and gossip from the Blackpool meet are on their own thread - "Old Style Meet - The Aftermath"
Good luck to all the OS kiddies doing their SATs
and best of luck also to moggins in your quest to kick the dreaded habit - just think of the moneysaving and the fact that you'll be able to have your op :j :j :j
See you later - I had 62 emails to catch up with in my w**k inbox this morning, so lots to do. Wish I was having a night in to recover from Blackpool, but instead I have a cheapie opera ticket for a date with the lovely Placido Domingo
Catch you later

Morning all :hello:
My little dears are currently in Assembly before their Science SATS papers. Fingers crossed they do well. They're all quite hyperactive this morning. They should do ok, here's hoping................ They can't show me up NOW!
I managed to make lunch last night for today. At least I'll have something decent (a green bean salad), as opposed to my normal "emergency lunch" of branflakes! I'm hoping that my mum will be providing supper for us, as we're back up there tonight in time for Grandpa's funeral tomorrow afternoon.
My mum is having great problems with her aunt (Grandpa's sister). Even though Grandpa and his sister fought like cat and dog and hardly spoke from one year to the next, she's almost doing the "grieving widow" act, which is really winding my mum up. Phoning my mum at all hours, making my mum cry (because she was just getting on with things) etc and of course my dad is being as useless as a chocolate teapot. My mum is trying to persuade my Grandma (dad's mum) not to go to the funeral as it would "only upset her" and why doesn't she look after the house until we come back?
See you later. The children are back!

Thanks for asking. We found out a couple of days ago that my dad has acute leukaemia. The hospital are giving him blood transfusions and antibiotics as he has high temperature and trying to get him strong enough to cope with chemotherapy. I am going down every day and DDs get there when they can. trying to be positive and not worry my younger daughters as youngest is only 12 and her sister is starting As exams. The two older girls have been told a little more detail.
Need to get washing dry and make something for tea - have a mooch in freezer to see what can be home made from stuff in there. May spend an hour just starting the dreaded ironing mountain."This site is addictive!"

Good Morning Everyone :hello:
Good luck Moggins Me and DH have agreeed to quit at the end of May.
Good luck to everyone who has children doing SATS. DS1 has his, but he is year4, so I think its just to see how he has come on in the year. I was trying to reasure him this morning that its to see how well the teacher have tought the children :T I need to speak to his teacher, he had a bad day Friday with a child out of his class (bullying). DS1 has dyspraxia and is prone to obsessions which I dont think the other kids 'get' - latest obsession is Star Wars. So he does all the sounds, and this other kid told him to shut up, when DS1 didnt he spent the rest of the day punching and hitting him. I phoned the school Friday, but his teacher was in a meeting, and this morning its raining so she was all ready in the classroom and DS1 didnt want me to go in, in-case I embrassed himahh well, I did tell him to tell her to give me a ring.............just have to wait and see i guess
Terrible weather and I have a load ofwashing that I could do with pegging out. I did all the ironing yesterday plus cleanded the house from top to bottoom, so I think its a lazy day watching Phill and Fern :T
B - weetabix and toast
L - pasta and cheese sause
D - spag bol (we eat quite a bit of pasta, plus its the only way I can get veggies into DS1!!)
See you all later................looks like the Blackpool lot are lieing in this morning......not heard a thing from them yet
Julie :wave:I also remember the words of my friends, but I would rather have enemies than friends like youwould like to make it known that ZubeZubes avvy is a DHN, she's not dancing

Good luck with the consultant PP !
and good luck Moggins with giving up the ciggies!
My DS2 did his SATS last week (year 9) now we're on the countdown to DS1's GCSE's which start in a couple of weeks:eek: It is very stressful for both him and us as he's not too keen on revision! I'll be so glad when they're over!
If all goes well he'll be going to college to train to be an electrical installator/electrician. Makes me feel quite old now they're growing up so fast:o

Morning all
Just got back from the hospital after a nice round of scans, they found a cyst on my ovary which goes someway to explaining why I'm not falling pregnant. Will have to wait to see my Doc now and see what the next course of action is.
The weather's grotty here today too - rain and thick fog - blughhh - had to resort to digging out a jumper.
Going to spend the rest of the day doing some craft bits - make some cards, bit of sewing etc.
B - Toast and cereal all round
L - Various filled wraps for the others - not decided what I'll have yet.
D - Will go raid the freezer and see what I can find.....forgot to get anything out last night....oppps
Anyway - hugs all round.....have a good one all."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
