Good Morning All
Am in office at mom & thought would treat myself to quick 5 min surf.
Good Luck Moggins & congratulations on your appntmnt.
Wee hopefully will have finished (for now) in office in the next hour - then need to empty washing machine & refill. Really need to do some housework but probably will just get round to hoovering & cleaning toilets today. With regards to housework - have any of you seen Cleanaholics on Disc Health - some of those people have a real problem & I think I will prefer my house a little dusty rather than having OCD.
Gonna have a ham sandwich soon for lunch (left over gammon) and tonight DD has 2 friends round so am having a tea party dinner ifykwim. We had one last week & DS announced it was his best dinner ever. Just makes it easier for me when people come round as I cant keep up with all the likes and dislikes.
Have a good day all and hugs to anyone who needs them.0 -
VickyA - Only just caught up with your sad news about your Grandpa. Glad you were already at home for the weekend when it happened. We're all thinking of you.0

VickyA - the places to look for cheap deals on wine are www.acaseofwine.com and www.acaseofbubbly.com. However, the recent voucher deal I got (£20 off 24 bottles, at a web price to begin with, total £87) was through Laithwaites who I'm on a wine plan with (though I very rarely actually choose to take one of their quarterly cases
)
I have been meaning to ask you actually - you mentioned the Tesco Wine Club - I'm still waiting to be sent a welcome pack  I don't suppose you could PM me if there's a code in the current magazine which might get me money off a 6-bottle case of champagne? I am very tempted to stock up while Lansons is on offer, but can't resist looking for a further discountAll the vouchers I can find online expired at the end of April.

I have one right here (don't even have to get up from my chair) I'll pm you. It's an extra points one (500) rather than a money off though. There wasn't a money off code with my April mailing.0 -
Moggins, that is absolutely fantastic news, I am delighted for you! Please keep away from the weed, you don't need it - what an incentive for you to give up.
Thanks to everyone for your enquiries about my poor head...it's as clear as a bell this morning - I am a v.v.cheap date indeed as I get tipsy on just one glass of wine. There are advantages - a bottle lasts a long time (usually have to chuck a lot of it away), and I rarely get hangovers. The wine I had last night was an expensive one...expensive for me that is...but was reduced to half price in the local shop.
Shez, it would be wonderful to meet you when I'm in London. I arrive on Sat 27th and depart again on 1st June (noooo!!!) - so maybe a weekend meeting would be possible if Bargain Rzl's work is likely to take up too much of her time? The Monday is a bank holiday by the way.
Gotta go!!0 -
Moggins - Fantastic news - what better reason to finally quit. :j
Well I've achieved lots - friend popped in for coffee and I worked around her - rather than sitting with her.
I've now got an hour to myself before I get on with the ironing......it's either have a surf (and quite likely spend money) or go watch a dvd and have early lunch....or do some baking.......
I think early lunch and a dvd sounds far more inviting."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Hi all! Not been up to posting for a little while, tho have read the thread most days.
P-P Sorry you had another bad night hon, hope you feel better as the day goes on. The nights seem so long when you're ill and unable to sleep, don't they! At least it gets light a bit earlier now, so that helps a little bit.
VickyA So sorry about your Grandad. (((((((HUGS))))))
Moggins What fantastic news! So chuffed for you! I bet you'll now find it much easier to quit.
Aussielass So pleased to hear about the house - what a long stressful wait you've had!
Elona I was so sorry to hear about your Dad and hope you have good news today.
Katgoddess ((((((HUGS))))))
Shez Good luck with the job! I think that's fab news. As other people have said, if it doesn't work out, you don't have to stay, but I reckon you'll really enjoy it once you get used to being at work again.
Mushypeas Welcome to the Daily Thread!
Bargain Rzl I've pm'd you about Thursday!
(((((HUGS))))) to anyone else who needs some and whom I've missed!
Best wishes

hiya,
lots of hugs to all that need or want them.
just sitting giggling as my 2 dss's who you couldn't prise away from their games consoles are now out playing on their new trampoline even though it's spitting! i can't believe the difference it has made. we got it yesterday from B&q it's 8ft for £75 so bit of a bargain.
just had to make an annoying phone call. we got a postcard from southern electric saying thanks to the old occupier for changing to them and they would be sending out welcome pack etc. i phoned to complain as the old occupier hasn't lived here for over 2 years. after some investigating the operator told me that they had got a signature at our doorstep last month!!!! anyway after i refuted her claims she is cancelling it. very suspicious - sounds like their salesperson is just signing the forms themselves.
feeling very poorly today and oh is in bed with a headache. boys go home after 6 so might go for a nap than.
lunch: leftover chicken on wraps for the boys, for us a roll in something?
dinner: chicken curry & mini nans for the boys and pork casserole & roast tots for us. will probably do the casserole in the slow cooker.
thoughts are with elona & vickya
pp hope you have a pain free night
aussielass well done on the house selling
moggins good luck with the stopping smoking ( wondered what weed you were on about at first lol) married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-090 -
Have had a remarkably productive day so far!
Started dejunking my room - still looks like a bombsite at present but Rome wasn't built in a dayFilled up 1 binliner with rubbish and 3 carrier bags with old newspaper and scrap paper  Am determined to get myself into the mentality of living like an adult instead of a particularly untidy teenager - so when I get my own place I can start as I mean to go on!
WM is on, and load will go on the line when it's done (looks like a nice drying day - eeeek am turning into my mother)
Paprika beef is simmering away in a pot on the stove, will do spaghetti to go with it later.
Carrot cake is in the oven.
Passport pics have been found and Proms booking form has been filled in.
Taked to Sainsburys Bank about getting my direct debit changed to full amount instead of min payment (used to be my "stoozing on purchases" card, but 0% period now expired and I only use it now when somebody doesn't take Amex) and to have words with them about having raised my credit limit from £3500 to £4200 and then again to £4900! I told them I would probably be looking for a mortgage in the next few months and was trying to keep my available credit to a minimum, and the lady on the phone sorted it out and put a note on my account so it doesn't automatically go up again.
The one little thing I have so far neglected to do is - um - get out of my dressing gownThe WM is about to finish its rinse cycle so will go and hop in the shower in a mo.
I'm not sure I'll have time this afternoon to go charity shop browsing in Chelsea, but other than that I'm still on target :j :j
See you later
