Had THE worst day at w**k - I work in a bank and people can't seem to cope without the bank for more than 2 days so after a bank holiday they all go mad! We had queues to the door all day, and then to top it all off a customer phoned to complain that I'd short changed her, so I balanced my till and it was right so I can't possibly have done that. Have to wait till tomorrow till my mananger's back to see what he says about it all.
Ok, rant over, this evening I plan to make something yummy for tea (possibly an omlette or linguine cabonara) do the washing up that's lingering in the sink and do a load of washing.
Hope everyone's had a good day and hugs to all that need them.
I know how you feel - the phones at my place have been ringing off the hook all day long and I didnt feel so well - im coming down with something nasty - so I was glad to be walking out of the door at the end of the day!
It almost makes you want to work a bank holiday doesnt it! It would save us from the nightmare that is post bank holiday tuesday!
Im off to bed anyway, im going via the bath and then movie in bed after the day ive had!

Had quite a productive day here and just gonna do some ironing (does it ever end) but at least I know im not alone on that one.
Then gonna veg in front of the telly OH is in bed till 10pm so will chose something nice to watch and have got some nice cheese and crackers if I feel peckish.
Was lovely weather here today and looks like we are going to have a mini heatwave at last.:j
Only downside is that I really dont want to show any more of my body at the mom - will eat my cheese tonight & start the diet tom lol.
Have got horrible meeting tomm am but it will be all over by lunchtime - I cant wait - might even treat OH & myself to a nice lunch tomm.
DD is doing her KS2 sats next one & DS his KS1 Sats - we have done loads of revision and about as ready as we can be. Have read the superfoods thread but must admit cant wait for it to be over. PP my DD is prob going to reach a level 5 in Literacy and 4 in the others (this must sound v confusing to those without children) but her senior school dont have any sets. DD is going away for 5 days with the school the weekafter - is your DD? We are both looking forward to it and dreading it at the same time.
Anyway must plod on.
Have a lovely evening.0 -

DopeyDora - I'm so glad that the water trick worked, its hard when they don't eat, especially as they can't tell you what is wrong!!
My kitty seems to have been eating half my garden and has an upset tum now, that will teacher her to eat everything in sight!0 -

night night all0 -
Evening.
I had a bit of a manic day today. Taught lots, and in different buildings to mine as my room was being used for SAT stuff. Thank god it is only one day, as the kids used it as an excuse to mess. I really don't know why as the other rooms were identical to mine. Kids....
Also had lots of admin work to do as i found out at the last minute that i was in charge of organising all the exam papers that are coming up, and the photocopy lady is now off all week. Just got them there in time. Then we had a meeting after work.
Left feeling knackered, nauseous, and with bad back ache. I'm torn between an early night and watching 'lost'. I know what i should do but i know what will win.Currently sitting here after eating HM chicken curry, and a bit of an easter egg, which is yummy. (DH took pity on me and hoovered the kitchen and dealt with cooking dineer for me so i could finsh working early.)
Dora - thanks for thinking of fred. He is feeling much better thank you, and can manage to walk about more normally now, ie. only a slight limp. Hope your kitties op goes well. Be prepared to do a gourmet dish like scrambled egg tomorrow. That's what our vet always recommends after anaesthetic, and it always goes down very well.
moggins- sounds like you've got motivation there. Good luck achieving it. It's hard i know, but persevere even if you give in once or twice, cos you'll get there in the end.
elona - try and do easy meals if you are spending so long travelling. It's important you eat well to keep going. I know that from my dad being in hospital for 9 months. It takes it out of you. I'll be thinking of you.
BRZL - i think you should post a piccie of the new 'do'. Or one of you at 'alton towers'. You are going to meet most people this week  Lucky you.
For those whose kids are doing y6 SATs, thought you might like to know that most schools don't set kids in y7 as the results don't get to us until late in the summer hols, and sometimes september/october, so its too late to do anything. Level 4 is the national target, and anyone who gets level 5 is doing really well. (Hope that makes you feel really proud from what you said.
Well. Ta-ra for now. I feel like i have square eyes, and i want to feel water before i settle in front of the telly. Will check in again tomorrow.

Evening all
Just eaten after giving blood. I was really worried they wouldn’t let me as I have an op. next week, but as it is a small one it’s ok. Doubly worried as last time the red stuff just wouldn’t come out! (Hope no-one is eating reading this). Anyway, yippee, my donation went well and that’s now my fifth visit :jI've also asked to be put on the bone marrow transplant list.
I was v.v. good and whilst waiting (1.5 hrs) I read a book for my next assignment. This is the first time on my course I haven’t waited until the weekend before, I learnt a harsh lesson this weekend.
Also earned £3 today doing a 20 minute psychology test at my local university. So far over the past 3 weeks I have earned about £30 answering odd questions. Is this the strangest way to earn extra cash? I like to think, as it is cash, that it is worth more, 25% more
AussieLass - I’ve just read your earlier post again:AussieLass wrote:We have just sold our house...We bought a block of land nearly a year ago to build a house on over here on Lamb Island.
Nuttyrockeress – Your post made me tearful, I hope it offers support to others. Do you know who the poem is by? A close friend recently lost a relative and is suffering at the moment, this might bring them some calm. Thanks for posting it.
Moggins – You HAVE to quit now!! Great news about the operation.
Hi VickyA – rude? As if?! I sat some students in front of practice tests as well today, worked well as they got use to the online navigation (online multiple tests – horrible, doesn’t suit one of the poor learner’s learning style at all). Here’s a good place for numeracy sheets, aimed at adults but good for children as well, fun games. Soz if u already know about it: www.bbc.co.uk/skillswise
SnowyOwl – as I gave blood I’ll get v.v. tipsy tonight on a tineee bit of wine, I’m an even cheaper date! :rotfl:
Ivyleaf – thanks for saying hello
Elona – thinking of you and your dad, big hug
Hi Skystar – wish I had your internal alarm clock L You could make millions if you sold that!!
Evening as well to everyone I didn’t mention!

Thats Ok, I forgive you. You probably were in a frenzy with the thought of getting some more cheap plonk.Enjoy your afternoon with PP. She is probably whipping up some delicacy as I type. Don't forget to take your camera.
Mushy Peas You may change your mind once you actually see the house. :rotfl:DH has a tendency to start something but never quite finishes it off. So everything will be nearly finished but not quite. We can have our own little afternoon tea and you can cook me up some yummy scottish shortbread. Bet PP & BRitz will be jealous.
Elona Hope you are coping ok. ((((((hugs)))))))
Well I suppose I better start the day. WM is on, DD's b'day today. She's still sound asleep. I making her fav for tea. Beef Macaroni Pie & Cheesecake. The pie is a bit fiddly but I have some leftover HM pastry in the freezer which will do. I got the recipe here using oats in it. Very nice.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Well, as the first half of my day went so swimmingly, I should really have expected things to go pear shaped later on
After signing off earlier I carried on going about my business with some success - booked all the tickets I needed to book.
Then was supposed to go to a concert at the Barbican, which was first delayed, then cancelled - because the whole Barbican ventilation and air conditioning system went completely kaput
I suppose it turned out to be a moneysaving evening as I got a ticket refund (and as XBF had pulled out of going with me, I was alone so didn't spend the rest of the evening in the pub instead!) but I would much rather have heard the concert.
Then came home and thanks to all those lovely discount codes, decided to place an order with Tesco Online for their special-offer Lanson Black Label Champagne (which I have a few quid put aside for). NOOOOoooooo! It's not even appearing on the website any more! So it looks like if I want it, I might have to go down to my local Tesco and buy some in person - with only the original offer and the 5% discount for buying six. It's still a fab deal, but another few quid discount would have been nice!
Anyway, off to get my £5 Toni & Guy haircut tomorrow morning, then off to PP's for a cuppa
(PP - mugs would be absolutely fine but let's treat ourselves to the posh cups, shall we)
