Had a stonking day. I feel bad whinging because i know there are so many people with worse situations than me.
1) our credit card payment hasn't gone out of the bank account. I'm assuming because DH didn't sort out paying his wages in until the day the payment was due out. So now we'll get a late payment charge. Grrrr. Last thing i need is more expense on top of the month we've just had.
2) A really crappy day at w***. We had a training day that wasn't relevant to me in the slightest as it was all about what they will be doing next year when i won't be there, and it will all change again for the year after. Grrr. Spent the whole time perched on one of the science stools, and now my back is killing. No thought at all about what it can do to a pregnant person.
3) My head of department pulled a crafty. He only teaches two classes, which he took off me and my colleague to let us improve our teaching as we have both been off with ill health. He has told me i have to take my class back after half term, and then gave me a half inch thick booklet to prepare my lessons for after half term. He knows i am only just coping with the workload now, and now i have to take back a grotty class with 32 kids that mostly have lessons on an afternoon. I had no choice about it unless i want to go into competency, which could mean i could lose my job. Sneaky b******, as it is mock exam and report writing season, so the workload is really heavy. Male colleague who will be there next year, and is about to get 6 extra lessons from losing y11 so wouldn't suffer by picking up 7 lessons of y9, just gets the free time.
I have sat and had a cry on my dad already, as i have been really pressurised into doing this against what i had been told when i went to work, and doctor advised that i had a staggered return to work.
Any advice anyone??? Other than quit. Am i just being over sensitive?

Evening All
Had quite a good day today - springcleaned dd's bedroom - couldnt belive what I found under the bed. Hoovered whole house and washed upstairs floors. Was halfway through paperwork when got call to say DD's coach was on its way home so had to go and pick her up - she was v pleased to see us but also did say she was enjoying it so much she didnt want to come back yet - kids are amazing, last sunday I was reassuring her as she didnt want to go. Really enjoyed the chinese am craving a glass of full fat coke right now but am going to resist as I have done well all week giving it up. Does seem a bit bad admiting i have a 'coke' habit...lol.
Going to spend a couple more mins on here then finish off paperwork, tomm will open dd's suitcase and spend a lot of the day washing and ironing. If its nice tomm will pop up our caravan and go to the pub - dont want to stay at the moment as it like a mudbath.
Well in case I dont get back on here over the weekend (prob will though!) hope everyone has a wonderful bank holiday.
Michelle - Your health is most important and you must put that first - would you be under more stress and worry if you gave up now?
Vicky - have a brill time on your hen night/day
Elona - know how you feel my Nan can be like that & I hate having to talk to her like she's a child but that is how she is acting. Dread it if my Mum and Dad go like that!0 -
Just had to do a quick post - feel great, completed my old step video - my first propper exercise in about 4 years!!!!!
Feel fab tbh which is always good
Just done 2 loaves of wholemeal which I will leave overnight to rise then i'll proove and cook in the morning. Plus cooked a chilli for tea.
Thanks Shez for the details on banana bread, i'll investigate tomorrow - PP, thanks for sharing!!It's nice to be nutty but's more important to be nice0 -
Evening everybody
Am well on the way to preparing tomorrow's picnic, which - hurrah! means I don't have to get up too early tomorrowPotato salad with chives is done, as is black-saturn's choccy mousse which, when it's set, will be garnished with half a strawberry on each portion. I made it in those little glass ramekin thingys that you get shop-bought creme brulee in. Knew we had some in the cupboard
Which just leaves, for tomorrow, the grilled salmon with rocket salad, and the tricolore (tomato, basil and Lidl's cheapo mozzarella) salad. Thought I'd better leave those to be as fresh as possible. Rocket was looking a bit wilted after spending the afternoon in a carrier bag underneath my desk (went to Borough Market at lunchtime) so I am hoping my home remedy of a bit of wet kitchen roll wrapped round the stalks will revive it a bit.
Anyway am now vegging out with a glass of v nice white wine (chenin riesling) in front of the American Idol final. I haven't been following it religiously, but often watch it when I'm around on Saturday afternoons. I really want Katherine McPhee to win, she's been my favourite for ages.
michelle - what I've done in the past in crappy work situations is visualise the end in sight - whether it's been the point at which I'll be changing jobs, the deadline I'm on at the time, or whatever. In your case, you're going on maternity leave in less than 5 months. If you can handle it, all you need to do is tell yourself "only x months, y days left..."
(((hugs)))
