Afternoon All
The weather her is pretty dismal today - it hasnt stopped raining all day so we have had a day in......DD quite happy about that she is chillin & talking to her mates on msn.....ds & oh having a marathon film watching session. Myself - 3 loads of washing and 2 more to go but have trouble with the drying and also dreading the ironing. Also made rolls for the first time in the breadmaker and have got some interesting shapes & sizes...lol.
Had a huge fry up for lunch and think will have a buffet style tea - strange shaped egg mayo/ham rolls with saus rolls and some party food ive still got left in the freezer.
Seriously hoping the weather is better tomm as predicted have got a farmers market in the next village in the morn - its their first one. and hope to go up our caravan in the afternoon....think will get some chicken out the freezer in a min and take it up there to have with j pots and homemade coleslaw.
Cant wait till this eve, DS & I are desperate to watch SoccerAid, DD & OH have been told they will have to put up with it. Some of my favourite people are playing - obv Robbie and strangely Ronnie O' Sullivan.
Anyway off now to do some paperwork.....hope you all have a wonderful saturday night.0 -
Haha - I shouldn't have said anything. Just after my last post I went outside to look at the possibility of hanging the washing out - and it had just started raining. Then, as I was still staring skywards, I hear the dulcet tones of minibus reversing and it's Mr TM and DS1 - back for a hot bath (and in DS1's case, as much food as he can eat
)
Anyway - TD has been pressed into service (rads are already full) and I need the bedding for tonight. I have shampooed my living room and hall carpets - DS2 thought this was great fun
I dare say I can find some more washing to do... catch yall later

hello everyone
had a brilliant night out at a charity fundraiser - spent a small fortune, but won dinner for two in the raffel and then boyf won a voucher for......dinner for 2 in a different restaurant!!! think we will be eating well this month
went to Fife with Dad today. It was bright and sunny but we did still manage to get rained on! Oh well - it was just nice to have some quality time together - even if it was a get out clause for him (mum and sisters were shopping!)
house is a bit of a mess - so my plan for the rest of the day is
1. do dishes/clean kitchen
2. tidy bedroom
3. quick hoover
4. bleach bathroom
5. have shower
6. go to friends for bank holiday celebration.
have a great day everyoner.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
Hello everyone,
Well, today has turned into a nightmare, had a huge row with my mum, and she stomped off, so the children and i went out and have found my mum has now left and gone back to hers! She did leave a chicken cooking in the oven tho!!!!
Im really upset about it all, i wish she would understand that i dont want her to bring us things, i want to spend time with her, but she seems to think that by buying some shopping she has done her bit and thats enough and she can then carry on and do what she wants to do without thinking of anyone else but herself. I know she will go back home and i will be the 'ungrateful' daughter now, but i just wish she would see things from my point of view, rather than thinking if its not her way, then its the wrong way. I just dont think im being ungrateful by wanting her to spend time with the children and me, but she wants to do what she wants, so thats it. Normally i bite my tongue, but today i couldnt.
Anyway, whats done is done, we ended up going shopping in Tescos, Asda, Matalan and lunch in KFC so its been nice, even though i have now spent money i didnt want to!!!! We also popped into see a friend (for a bit of moral support) and had a lovely afternoon, and the children enjoyed playing with her daughter so that was good. We are now back home, watching deal or no deal, and DS is looking forward to the celebrity football tonight, which we can now watch as mum has gone (she wouldntve wanted to watch it, but still a shame her visit ended how it did).
Well, going to make some dinner now, sorry about the moan, and i hope everyone has a lovely evening,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Mr troo went to the market and bought -
63lb french beans for £1
12 and 1/2 lb sweet cherry toms for £1
Box 48 creme eggs for £4.50 (that's me sorted then lol)
3lb grapes for £1.20
Kids been out all day, gotta go out in a bit to share the veg around
Mr troo wants to know if he qualifies as an MSEer or did he cancel out his good spending by buying the creme eggs? Please bear in mind, he bought 10lb sprouts last week for £1.
:rotfl:Bulletproof0 -
troo - did you really mean SIXTY THREE pounds of french beans? If so, there's going to be some mammoth freezing and chutney making days coming up (can you make french bean chutney BTW?)
However, I think he definitely qualifies an MSE/OSer. The nearest Mr TM comes to bulk buying is beer and wine0 -
Yep - 63lb
He's blanching them at the mo, well he bought them so he can do the work lol.
I think he definitely qualifies an MSE/OSer
He just read this (the second I posted he wanted to know "if anyone had replied yet" ) and now has a big grin on his face "see I'm quite good really".The nearest Mr TM comes to bulk buying is beer and wine
That's Mr troo's usual efforts tooBulletproof0 -
Catowen :grouphug: Mothers can be a real pain sometimes.......I hope you'll be back on speaking terms soon.
My mother was here today - I always get the same old comments about....."well, if you lost a bit of weight"........"just a damp cloth each evening" ......."Don't keep on at the kids - they're just growing up...." grrrrrrrrrrr......as soon as she goes I reach for the wine bottle.
DD2 has her friends here for a sleepover - they're currently doing make-up - I'm going to do nails in a bit - won't let them loose with it alone. They've had a take away for tea and we're going to do the cake in a bit...will post a pic of the cake later.
Edited to post pic of cake......
My dad did manage to mend my washing machine today which was great - no catching up with 8 the weeks worth of washing - TD on full alert.
Hope you all have a great evening."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Hi all!
catowen you're not the only one with mother trouble! mine has put the phone down on me twice this week because 1. I wasn't at home when she came to see me(unannounced) and had dared to go out to lunch with my workmate on my day off! "don't you see enough of her?" 2. I dared to be helping DS1 at his disco instead of ringing her with the lottery numbers while she is at bingo! and when I tried to get around the problem all I got was"don't bother"   she makes me sooooooo mad. If I dared to do it to her she'd go beserk!
Glad to get that off my chest!!!
Have filled the freezer today to last the month and tomorrow am off to the carboot where they have some great veggie stalls.
OH has got his pigeon racing tomorrw as the weather today was too bad.
Am back off to help DS1 soon with his disco, its a 50th birthday party at a local pub/restaurant. If he does a good job they said there may be more work for him which will help him when he goes to college later this year and also with driving lessons when he is old enough next January.
Have a good evening all!;)
xxxDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Got up really late today due to the fact that I just couldn't put my book down last night.
As soon as I surfaced I realised that I had forgotten to make bread yesterday. So found one of Lidl bread mixes in the cupboard. Couldn't wait the normal three hours for it to finish so bunged in some extra's oats, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, sugar, salt and yeast. Then I put it on express bake and hope for the best.
Well 1 hr 20mins later I had a perfect multigrain loaf. Cut of a couple of slices for myself and DD spread with lidl raspberry jam (lovely and Tart).
The rest of the day has been spent online.
Signed up for pigsback.
Someone supplied a link to cheap Black books dvd's. This gave me a little inspiration for OH birthday next month, so checked out my cashback sites and got the dvd's, series 1 to 3 for £17.00 with 5% cashback. Sorted out one of his presents.:D
Some other kind sole had posted an Avon code for a free anti ageing cream. Thought this was a steal, especially as my present cream is just about finished and signed up for this.
Did some dishes and thought that maybe we hadn't had too bad a week. There are 4 of us (plus 2 cats, 1 hamster and a bunny)and we managed to keep the shopping down to about £76.00 and we still have some food left over.
My plan for the following week is to do the freezer and food cupboard thing. With this in mind I took out half a frozen haggis for my OH and some frozen rainbow trout and smoked haddock (all from reduced section at Tesco). Planning to make my DD and myself fish cakes for tomorrows dinner.
Oh well I'm off to make some savouy rice and smoke sausage for dinner.
Tomorrow is a busy day as we're off to see X-men 3. Can't wait. :j"A banker is a fellow who lends you his umbrella when the sun is shining, but wants it back the minute it begins to rain." Mark Twain0
