Hiya to everyone, especially the ones we haven't seen for a bit.
i managed to sneak out of school early to have my councelling appointment, which lasted a grand total of about 10 minutes. Don't have to go again now for about 7 weeks.
I had a pretty pointless day today. I went to the effort last night of planning a lesson and marking books for today, which was cancelled so y10 could do an exam. (I suppose i can now use it tomorrow.) Then i ended up doing a cover lesson as the teacher just didn't turn up. I was fuming as i really needed the loo, and i told my head of department that, and he just left me to it. I had to grab another colleague as they walked past, and say please watch them for 5 minutes. Thank god i wasn't really bursting is all i can say. So i haven't taught any of my own kids, felt like crap, and didn't get much done. Oh well. Just one more day.
We had an amusing half hour yesterday evening. My cats love playing out, but it seems like every time i send them out, others turn up too. We had an extra 2 in our garden yesterday. One of them my boys don't mind, but Fred was growling and sticking his fur up at the other one, so perhaps that is how he got hurt. DH said the 2 of them were nose to nose with the patio door between them, and it wasn't friendly. I don't know how to put the others off coming in the garden though.
Didn't get my early night so i am still shattered. OS today will have to be finding some chilli or spag bol out of the freezer and cooking an accompaniement. I'll get the lessons i need to do done soon before DH comes in, and then i am going to switch off. I felt so achy this morning that i know if i don't take care i will be poorly. I'm just about managing to keep on top of stuff, but it is really hard. Now my belly is getting bigger, i'm struggling to do some of the simplest jobs just because of the rubbish design of our bathroom and kitchen.
Just wanted to say - prudent - good luck with the inspection. This time of year is rubbish for it because of exams going off, and trying to revise with kids. It's hardly enthralling stuff.
snowy and PP's husband and chickadee - bet you are glad that the exams are finished.
I'm going to try and get on now so i can then put my feet up.
Hugs all round,
Michelle, xx0 -
Good afternoon everyone,
Chikadee - we did have flags (2 of them!!!) on our car, but driving around they fell off, mind you, did buy some more in Tescos for 97p, but we are waiting til nearer the world cup before putting them on the car, i use DS as an excuse tho, so wonder if we are all simple or just him (or me)???!!!
Busy morning for me today, went and collected my new glasses from specsavers, and i think they look good, a few of my friends noticed and think they are trendy, but they might just be being polite!!!! DS was in the paper a few weeks ago, playing football, so i popped into the paper shop and ordered the pictures of him, went to Boots and spent a fortune stocking up on toothpaste, shampoo etc, but they had loads of 3 for 2, and BOGOF offers, so i saved by buying in bulk. Also got a few more things for the holiday, going to start packing soon, im borrowing some suitcases off a friend, so will pick them up at the weekend. Im terrible with packing, i have to do it weeks in advance, cos i worry about forgetting something, still a few things to get, but nothing major and still have time!!!
I also had to pop into Next, as i bought a top in there a couple of weeks ago (normally only buy in Next during their sales, but couldnt resist this one for the holiday) and when i got home, realised they had charged me twice for it!!!! I rang them, and they said next time i was in, to bring the recipt in and they would re credit me, which they did without any fuss, so pleased with that.
Then went to Tescos, and they had loads of yellow stickered items (half price, not major bargains) but still better than full price, so my freezer is full to bursting again. mind you, needed bread flour and forgot all about it, so had to pop into the co-op on the way back . Also posted my ebay parcels, just one more to post, and found they had paid me when i got back home just now, so that one will go in the morning.
Right, going to start our dinner, have some fish out of the freezer, just need to decide what to do with it (well, something the children will eat!!!).
Hope everyone has a lovely evening,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Not a good day today have just heard that one of my oldest friends has passed away. Am feeling a bit devastated to say the least. We met at the anti-natal clinic over 40 years ago and our children shared their prams and toys together.
It is a true saying that when you are young you go to church for weddings, then as you get older it's for Christenings, and now when you get to my age it is sadly for funerals. She was a lovely lively person who will be missed by us all.Cancer is a dreadful discease that one day hopefully will be cured.
If you are in any doubt about anything get it checked out as soon as possible ,prevention is a whole lot better than the alternative.0 -
why does it always rain at school run time!? We looked like drowned rats.
Have just added up how much it will cost to kit both kids kids out in school uniform. DD needs all new. Hers has lasted 2 years but is now too small/very tatty. DS will be starting. Apart from PE shorts & T shirt nothing else can be handed down.
The total has come to approx. £235  I hate the fact that so much has to be logo-ed.

Everyone else - I need a pen and paper next to me as I was going to reply to everyone. :hello: :hello: anyway!
Had a pretty bad day at work today. Teachers are all disgruntled about the possibility of redundancies, children are wound up because it's half term on Friday................ need I go on?!
OH has managed to get tickets for a comedy night in Peterborough tonight, so I'm in charge of heating up the soup ready for a mad dash out again.
Better go as I've got a couple of jobs to do before then.
Take care
