    Morning :hello:

    It's a great feeling isn't it mushypeas!!

Wet and miserable day here again....

Booked our holiday though last night so that should help me through the next few months til we go :j

Breakfast - none (I can see a pattern emerging here again)
Lunch - Will nip to Boots and get some with my points, didn;t get time to make sarnies by the time I had finished booking the holiday.
Tea - Sweet and Sour chicken

Quick question for all you exercise DVD/Video fanatics, where do you do these? I want to do some but only have TV and DVD in the lounge which ahs a huge square bay window which people walk past to go to the co-op at the bottom of the hill?

    Have a good one

mamaoba agree with Bargain Rzl, my TD does exactly the same! Make sure you really shove the water tray fully back in and try starting again. Sometimes I have to do it two or three times but it always works in the end!! Good luck!

    Hi everyone,

The ECDL exam wasn't too bad yesterday. There were one or two tricky questions which puzzled me but I think I did enough to get the 75% pass mark. I'm working my way through the Advanced Excel workbook now. I use Excel all the time so this should be a bit easier (hopefully!)

I am at w**k at the moment and should be writing a board report but I keep getting distracted by t'internet!

We had our offer accepted on the Welsh house yesterday so now it's all systems go to get the mortgage, survey, etc sorted out. We are going to try to learn a bit of Welsh language so our neighbours accept us a bit better. We won't be hanging St George's flags out of our windows so hopefully we won't wind them up too much! Speaking of flags, have you all seen this notice from the DVLA?

    Urgent newsflash from the DVLA

"In order to assist other motorists in identifying potential
dangerous drivers, it is now compulsory for anyone with a
lower than average IQ and driving ability to display a
    warning flag.

The flag, (comprising of a red cross on a white background), will
be attached to the top of at least one door of their vehicle.

For drivers of exceptionally low mental ability, additional flags
    are required."

Well it made me laugh! Sorry if it offends anyone with flags on their car! :D

I'm currently learning how to be a football coach so tonight I'm off to a First Aid for Football course from 6.30 to 9.30 so I don't know what I'll do for tea. On Friday its Child Protection then on Sunday I get assessed on running a coaching session. Watch out DS's football team!!

    Have a great day everyone!

I spent a lot of yesterday phoning colleges in the area for DS. He is only 15 at the mo, but being home educated it is not so easy to get the dozens of GCSEs that they do at school - pretty expensive apart from anything else! So I want to find out what is required to get him a place in college on the type of course he is interested in, & about courses for GCSEs as well, which would be free once he is post-16. And also phoned a private school who do distance learning courses for IGCSEs, ( like GCSEs but with an extra exam instead of coursework, so more practical for home edders) basically it would cost about £300 for 2 subjects which he could take next year, so that is worth considering, too. Of course he needs to get down and do the work!

Chipps we had this problem too with both of ours.
The college wouldn't even give my son an interview until OH argued them round.
DS had 3 gcse's (B,B and C)and a city in guilds level 2 in computer programming all from the adult education college. He did 2 at 15 and 2 at 16,we had to argue to get him in at 15 but we paid in full and it was still loads cheaper than distance learning + they arrange the exams .
The FE college grudgingly said they would give him a place depending on the last 2 gcse results which we hadnt recieved then but...OH had also made an appointment at a 6th form college and he was offered a place immediately doing all the A levels he wanted(far more available and they also do vocational courses). He loves it,he is taking his AS's this week.
This year we applied for DD to go there to do A's and although she has no GCSE's at all as we just couldn't afford them, they accepted her with no problems. She starts in September.

Its been windy and wet here again. My whole house is hoovered!!:T
Laundry trundling around in the drier and I nipped out the back and thinned out the parsnips and turnips. My neighbour told me you cant replant the thinnings to fill in the gaps but I have anyway.Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

DD(17) doing exam today so making a dozen chocolate muffins , her favourite fruit cake, two quiches and two cheese and potato pies.

Managed to get Dads two pairs of pyjamas dry in spite of the weather and will have to dash around to get to hospital tonight.

Good luck to everyone doing exams.

    Hello everyone

Firstly, big apology as I have just skimmed this thread - noticed there was lots of things I wanted to comment on, but all notes to self have somehow erased themselves. I am back from my LAST exam but my head is spinning. It was another three hour one, I used every last second of it, non-stop scribbling but all that thinking really takes it out of me. Fingers crossed the results will be OK - thanks for all the good luck messages, it is really encouraging to get them.

As BargainRzl mentioned I'm off to London at the weekend:j. I'm staying until Thursday, and the mini-meet between BargainRzl, Shez and me is on Sunday evening. Anybody who fancies coming along is more than welcome. I am nervous - I've never met anybody from the internet before - so foreverskint if you decide to come along you can be nervous with me.

I'm going to leave back my five overdue books to the library this afternoon, maybe do a wee bit of shopping for my forthcoming visit to London (NOTHING fits me...how depressing to have to buy more clothes in yet another size bigger...sigh sigh sigh...but now that college is finished I am going to join a posh gym and move myself to encourage a reversal of this gain).

I've booked the cats' hotel for my holiday - they stay in an absolutely fabulous cattery and get pampered and waited on head to tail. Muggins has to pay £8 per day for it though, so they had better eat all the food they are given...

MushyPeas....oooo I bet you danced like a loon when you got that message this morning - it's fab news, no stopping it now. Oh and of course BargainRzl is right - I got confused with which Jo you were referring to. So where is Jo from Bath?? She mentioned she has an important exam (tis the season to be swotty) so maybe she's concentrating on that.

I'm off, see you all later.

    Hi everyone!
Thanks for the funny about the flags Chickadee...I shall snigger smugly to myself everytime I spot one!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I've just read it out to my boss!!
It's a right mixed bag here today weather wise. We've had several heavy showers and now it's sunny again....it would be good if I don't get soaked on the playground again!
OH had a constructive evening last night using some bubblewrap I had purloined from work [not really-I'd been given it] to insulate the pipes in our airing cupboard. Such simple things please me these days.
My challenge for this week is to work out how an earth I'm going to make an elephant birthday cake for the small person next week...my thoughts at the moment are perhaps that I shall draw round an elmer card and then transfer it to some ready roll icing I've got in the fridge from Easter.I've already discovered that my "black" food colouring gives a rather nice gun metal grey.We shall have to see....
We're off on the razzle tonight-it's a friend's big '0' birthday and she's treating us to a meal. Thought I wouldn't have to cook but just remembered that the small person will still need feeding...after a frantic rummage down at the bottom of the freezer found a gammon chop lurking. Phew!
    Have a great day.
