With earned amazon vouchers husband has ordered a new scanner :j will arrive middle of next week.

    Yours

oh that sounds really nice, I hope you will be posting some pics afterwards??

like the rugby table names! I had my tables named after spanish towns, as me and DH met a spanish classes!

forgot to ask where are you getting married?

Of course I'll post some pics afterwards. Getting married at the end of July, so you'll have to wait until mid-August.

We're getting married up in Lincolnshire, where I'm originally from. Ceremony in the church where I was christened, then walking back to my parents' house for the reception in a marquee.

PS Just incase people get the wrong end of the stick, it's me that is obsessed with the rugby players, OH just has to humour me. :D;)

Hope all are well, (((hugs))) to all who need them.

Lisa that's a shame about your anti d's. I am currently on them and have been since January, hope you feel better soon. I was talking to my boyf about my tab's last night, I feel worried about coming off them as it's the first time I've felt "normal" in about 8 years:confused: oh well, will come to that hurdle when it comes xx

Well to day was the great London to Brighton Mini Run!!!!:D (Driving in a HUGE convoy of minis from Crystal Palace, London to Brighton) It was soooooo good!!! Shame it poured it down with rain though!! We got soaked walking along the seafront!! I'll try and post a couple of piccies later!! There were thousands of minis, literally!!! There were exactly 2121 doing the run officially (it was the 21st birthday of the mini run) and then loads of minis doing the run unofficially- just joining on the way. Fab fab fab!!!!

Brekkie was a bowl of cereal
Lunch was a picnic (how MSE!!)
Dinner will be curry that has been cooking in the slow cooker, rice on as I type!

Boyf is ironing his shirts as I type!! Better that he does them now as he won't be @rsed in the morning!:rotfl:

Hope everyone is ok and hasn't had too wet a weekend.

    Take care

    hiya everyone,

i've been naughty and not had much time to post, but i have read most days (skivving!)

well major result with bank charges - 3 companies which i knew the exact amount we had been charged have refunded us fully ( see sig - will update when i hear any more from the others.

the other ones might be a little longer as i have requested statements and they can take up to 40 days before they have to respond.

doing well on the decluttering front and making good money on ebay into the bargain.

eldest dss seems to have started eating like a horse - unfortunatley it's mostly junk he wants to fill up on. so we've told him that he needs to start eating more fruit instead.

house still not up for sale arghh, but hopefully it will be finished this week - we are getting there.

    take care

Just got back from the hospital with more washing - felt awful when I saw dad in hospital p.j.s - I wanted to leave him three pairs last night but he would only let me leave two as they make his holdall too heavy!

We got his tv wotking last night and left him thinking that would be helpful - when we asked today - he could not be bothered to switch it on last night as it is too much of a hassle- DD spent ages last night showing him how to work it.

He will not let me bring anything and insists he does not want anything at all - so feel really useless. Every day he seems to be weaker but he insists he will be going home soon. Will leave that arguement up to the hospital as I do not see how he could manage.

Need to go iron Dds uniform in about half an hour and then put more washing on.

all this must be so tiring for you elona but to me it sounds as if your dad might be very tired or maybe a bit depressed and as your his daughter you are getting the brunt of it instead of the staff

    Hello everyone

I've been spending most of the day studying, or rather trying to - it has been a very haphazard attempt even though my first exam is in the morning. I'll do a wee bit more then try and get an early night in the hope that I actually do sleep.

The weather over here has been totally abysmal this weekend - rain, rain, rain and more rain! Well, I suppose it makes the studying a bit more bearable, but even so I'd still like to go for a walk and put some washing outside.

Old Style, especially the cooking bit, is still in the back seat for now - no excuses or particular reasons. I think my interest has either disappeared down the back of the sofa or been eaten by the cat along with my study motivation.

Calley - I am very impressed by how much baking you got done today. I do enjoy baking, but unfortunately it just disappears down my neck so I don't do it very often. I have over indulged in the past and need to lose several stone now. How do you keep away from the scones and flapjacks?

PP - glad the mark came out of your new top.

PurplePrincess...I would just loved to have seen all those minis driving down Brighton's seafront. It sounds like you had a fab day out, never mind the rain.

Elona - sounds like your dad is going through a grumpy phase. Don't let yourself think you are useless, of course you are not! Yes, your father is grumpy with you, but you keep going back anyway, and do so much for him. Of course he appreciates it, he just doesn't know how to say so. Defo leave the arguments about his not leaving the hospital to him and the staff, and let them put your points of view forward somehow.

BargainRzl...ooooo you mentioned Ealing...big sigh, used to go shopping there all the time as I was a "local". Still can't believe how much I miss the big smoke after two years.... . Glad you enjoyed the do in your posh frock. Again shame about the rain, but from what I hear the S.E. needs a liberal application of the wet stuff, just not when you're wearing a posh frock. I'm very tempted to offer to rehome your dad's slow cooker, but it's probably not the most practical of items to put in a suitcase so I won't bother! I hope you've encouraged him to use it, it's a fabulous invention. I'll be popping into Windsor when I'm over to see the Queen. Well, I won't actually be a personal guest of her maj, more like a tourist going to that exhibition of photos of her life.

I've made a decision...I'm going to join a posh gym which is about 15 minutes drive from me. I was in a really nice gym before and was their most faithful customer. Unfortunately since I moved away and having to deal with the various personal catastrophes that followed I've become exceptionally unfit. I think I'm about ready to make this sort of a commitment financially and with the time etc, so I'll just get on with it after my forthcoming holiday in London. I know it sounds v.un-MSE to join a posh gym. I joined the local council one before and didn't like it - so that was a waste of money. I'll use this new one regularly, so price per visit will be more like £2 as opposed to the £35 per visit at the council one (ie I was a member for two months and went twice....:rotfl:)

That's it for now, gotta go and finish my studying, want to be tucked up in bed for 10.30 pm.

    Bye all

I think twink's right, sounds like your father is depressed, p!ssed off, and in denial about his state of health. Not much fun for him, but can't be much fun for you either! :grouphug:

purple - sounds like you had a great time :D i think the "unofficial" drivers were already out in force yesterday, we passed a few small convoys while bombing down the M23.

Snowy (and Shez) - are you still up for a mini-meet next w'end while Snowy is in London? (Sunday evening, about 7pm, is prob best time for me.)

BM is finished, loaf looks good, and I have a big pot of bolognese sauce simmering on the stove smelling fabulous. Need to pop downstairs in a mo to do some spaghetti.

Woohoo, I've just reclaimed Wednesday evening! Had a cheap ticket for the Royal Opera House but it was a show I'd already seen - I'd only booked twice because I'd suspected I might love it so much I'd be dying to see it again. It was good, but not that good, so housemate has bought the ticket off me - he sort of wanted to see it anyway - and that's £13 back in my pocket. So now I'm out at concerts Monday and Tuesday, snging lesson Thursday, back at Glyndebourne (this time on the train, with a cheapie picnic and plonk) on Saturday, and somehow I agreed to spend my Sunday escorting my (ageing straight male) singing teacher to a "gay revue" matinee performed by a gay couple who are friends of his, both being theatre pro's :o:confused:  Heaven only knows what sort of show it will be, but I can see why my singing teacher wanted me (young reasonable-looking straight female) to go with him to affirm his masculinity :rotfl::rotfl:

And gives me Wed eve, Sat eve, and Bank Holiday Monday to relax.

Though one of my friends is in a Shakespeare play in North London at the moment - it closes next week and I really ought to go - aaaaaaargh...

Plenty of time for sleeping when I'm dead I suppose :o
