    Afternoon

Couldnt hook onto site for a couple of hrs.

Ebay sales hit £80+ so am very happy. Friend came over and she is having major problems with the new boss. Cant go into specifics, but have advised her to approach MD as its quite a serious matter and needs to be addressed urgently! Her daughter has stayed to play with my DD as Granny didnt take her out as its raining...would of been nice to invite her over..but there you go...LOL Think she would have melted in the rain...lol!!

Dinner smells scrummy and OH wont let me into the kitchen to help, so have done some reading and nearly got me essay drafted up for the end of the week. Going to try and use my word count up as much as possible and push a higher mark.

Feel so knackered and have a long day tomorrow which Im not looking forward too.

Anyway, got to go. See Ya

    Good Afternoon

Just quick pop on here as must get another load of washing in and tidy up - yesterday spent most of the day ironing and packing for DD's trip. Dropped her off at school at lunchtime and saw her off on the coach, she was nervous and excited....it was a really weird feeling for me - its her first time away from home (she's 10) I am looking forward to having a peaceful week - she & DS normally argue all the time but it will be really strange without her.
One thing though Im going to spring clean her bedroom with her consent - am dreading under the bed.

Well after feeling under the weather all week think cold is on its last legs so theres no excuse this week quite a few things to catch up on but hopefully will have done it by the end of the week so can enjoy the bank hol.

Must dash - enjoy the rest of the weekend.

    PS Welcome Kyle & Melabarrie.

    Hiya Shez

No keep fit for me yet, left arm still bandaged. I was thinking that one keep-fit I can do is running. You've also inspired me to pop down to my local charity shop and buy some keep fit DVDs. However, the Davina one does sound worth the purchase. Of the ones you have, which is the best?

Finished off my freelance work this afternoon - hurrah! Now going to look at doing some scanner art photography later, it is really cool.

    Afternoon :D

Got soaked through while coming home from Lidl, so have stripped off jeans and jacket and am now tucked up cosy under my quilt for a little while in my dressing gown - I did manage to get the BM on first though! :D

Glyndebourne wasn't too bad considering the weather! The show was fun, and it actually didn't rain through the whole of the supper interval (was v. chilly and windy though) and after the opera finished, the weather was actually quite pleasant! Also, we ran into somebody I know, who was pleased that we were able to give her a lift back to the station so she didn't have to get a taxi. We didn't drink that much - just the half-bottle of bubbly which came with our picnic, and plenty of hot coffee out of a thermos - LOL! So we saved my bottle of cheapo cava for when we got back to my dad's flat near Windsor, which was nice because it meant he could have an equal share as by then he'd finished driving.

Several minor disasters along the way  When I left the house yesterday it was glorious sunshine for a while, and I managed to forget my brolly (hence coming home just now looking and feeling like a drowned rat!) - we got stuck in traffic coming out of London and were almost late for the show, plus we almost ran out of petrol  While changing from t-shirt and jeans into glad-rags, I managed to leave my fleece behind in the ladies' changing room (not a huge problem, they've confirmed they've got it in lost property and I'm going again really soon). This morning my dad gave me a lift to Slough station and I managed to miss, by a whisker, the only train that would get me to choir practice anything like on time. Luckily he was able to give me a lift up to Ealing to catch the tube!

My dad's kitchen made me LOL. I actually haven't been round there for a couple of years, as we normally meet in town, and was amused to see a kitchen full of failed attempts to be Old Style :rotfl::rotfl: - a SC gathering dust in a corner; bread flour, yeast etc sitting in the cupboard with expiry dates long past; the wilted-looking remains of an Abel & Cole box, and all sorts of interesting Fairtrade products which he'd bought and then discovered he didn't like :D:D Bless 'im for trying! He's a lot more OS than he used to be! (He even gave me porridge with honey for brekkie!)

Am intending to do a big spag bol tonight that I can portion up and freeze - I have somehow managed to commit myself to be out every night this (next) week except Friday, so after this evening there will not be any cooking going on around here for a while!

Edit: also I've been given some rhubarb by somebody at church. I think it will be going in the freezer for now.

Well done on your ebay sales PP, hugs to anybody in need of them, and welcome to all the newbies :hello:

    Afternoon everyone! :hello:

I'm back from our lovely weekend at our friends' house. It was really nice to see them again, and other friends were there with their little - nearly 2 year old - girl.

We went into Lincoln yesterday afternoon and all friends were suitably impressed with the city. We parked at the top of the hill and walked down. Our main reason for going was to get two ushers measured for their suits for our wedding. And to get our wedding rings. We've got mine sorted, but OH's has to be sized down - his fingers are thinner than mine  We got a 20% discount because they made my engagement ring. OH felt better after that discount...... :D

We went for a potter around the big Next in Grantham today, after a lazy morning of everyone reading the paper. Then I was introduced to Home Bargains. It seemed like a slightly larger "Savers" to me, so I managed to pick up a couple of bargains on facial scrub, handwash for our holiday and handcream for my handbag! ;)

OH is now "checking his eyelids for pin holes" - he's asleep :rotfl: He reckons he had too much wine last night

See you folks later as I've now got to do some planning for the week.

    afternoon/evening!

bargainrzl - glad to hear your evening wasnt a complete washout! laughed about your dads cupboards - that used to be my cupboards till recently when ive been off work and on here - my cupboards have never been so full of stuff ive never bought before!! plus ive run out twice of mixed spice coz of so much bread pudding ive been making!!
Fairtrade stuff - I got some of that muesli on offer in tesco (49p) its okay, but not nearly as nice as the Lidl one but that is £1.50, hope its on offer soon!

Mushypeas - I done davina again today complete with littleuns attempts on the mat and going underneath my legs!!!
Davina Power of 3 is quite a hard workout, wouldnt do it with one arm!
If you have been used to going to keepfit classes etc then i would say its okay, if you havent done much/any before then might be abit too advanced level to start. If thats the case, Rosemary Conleys videos are usually quite good at adapting at different levels and i find her good and clear to follow.

Ive got: R.Conley Ultimate whole body workout vid, salsacise (new dvd) both good!
a Reebok Step Workout & Carolann Brown Step videos - both good.
In loft - Racquel Welsh keep fit vid, Jane Fonda aerobics/bodyworkout vids!
    (dont laugh)

Theres so many people doing/done keepfit vid/dvds, dont know what they are like.

Also dont forget you can always get videos out from the library to try and see if you like certain ones before you buy or as you say if they are cheap at charity shop. Last time in the c.shop i saw a few Mr Motivator Videos!! remember him!! ha ha

If i have time I try to do the whole workouts, but if not try to get the fat burning bit done!

Well, my bridesmaids are going to be in magenta. Luckily, the suit hire place has magenta ties........... thankfully! Otherwise we'd be stuck as the men are having "normal" ties as opposed to cravats or rouched ties.

Our tables are going to be named after rugby players from my favourite team :D, the Leicester Tigers. There is going to be a subtle theme running through of cats - the cake is having embossed cats paws across the icing and the place cards are having cats paw prints in the corner. Lateral thinking, I'm calling it!

Sorry Shez, you only asked about the colour scheme :D:o
