    Good morning all!

Sorry to hear about so many bad nights, it's really horrible not being able to sleep, I know.

It's not raining here at the mo, but I have put the washing in the TD as the sky doesn't look too promising (that's probably a sign for the sun to come out!!!)
The recycling & compost collection is today, so that has all gone out this morning - now I just need to get myself showered and dressed! But I had to come on here first and say hello. I just had to turf DS2 off the computer, otherwise I won't get near for ages. He has decided he wants to do the sport relief mile on Saturday so will be actively looking for sponsors.

    Have a good day everyone!

    Morning All

Have to admit that didnt get great sleep last night either - had headache from this cold but I think its on the way out now thanfully.

Change of plans for today as DD home with bad headache and temp - think the Sats caught up with her in the end! So will mainly concentrate on washing (no outside drying today by the looks of it) and keeping house tidy - think will dust downstairs and hoover.

Will make a shephers pie for tea also but have inlaws coming over - they havnt stated a time but will prob turn up in the middle of dinner however I know that MIL doesnt like shepherds pie - I know im wicked but if you knew her you would understand.

Its horrible outside and weve got loads of planting in the garden but the next few days forecast isnt looking good also got a 50th Bday party to go on Saturday which was planned for the garden so looks like 50+ people will be fitting in a small house - English summers eh!

Will dash now and take DS to school.

    See you later

    Morning all

Having posted in the daily thread lately as I've been really busy with computer work (school website) and decorating so OS has been minimal along with everything else :o I'm paying for it now though. Yesterday I woke up feeling a little bit rough, by last night every muscle in my body was aching, my throat was REALLY sore and I had a roaring temperature  Hardly slept all night as I couldn't get comfortable or was too hot then this morning after about 2 hours sleep I'm physically and mentally exhausted BUT now DD has come down with the same bug so is off school :mad: I'm only just feeling slightly better but I just want to sleep so nothing for me to do today except take a slow walk down to Asda to get some more Halls Soothers, lemon juice and margarine

Right, off to try and find a comfortable position on the armchair to watch some cbeebies with DD while I have a hot honey and lemon.

Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!

    Morning!

Nicki - I woke up feeling absolutley awful yesterday too and spent most of the day sleeping. I hope you feel better soon.

    Essex-Girl - Thanks, I feel much better!

I managed to sleep all through last night too, my body must have needed it badly. I dont think I realised just how exhausting the last couple of months have been because as soon as I had time off, my body went on strike!I woke up this morning feeling much better though, ive only got a bunged up nose now! Today I intend to revise like a demon and relax in between, a friend of mine is in Bristol today so we are meeting for lunch, and then have to be at work for 6pm for the marketing thing, so ill get a £20 voucher for m&s.

I need to be back for 9pm as the bookcase I want finishes on ebay and want to put my bid in at the last minute. Fingers crossed ill get it at the price I want it for! It matches my existing furniture perfectly and really need something to display all my things on. Im also having fun deciding what to buy this weekend as I get paid. Ive done a new budget now that im on my own and can still manage, but I realise I need to spend less and actually have a socialising budget so I go out of the house and see people! Ive not had a social budget for ages but as I dont drink it shouldnt be too expensive, and anyway, I plan on using it for things I want to do, like taking up a sports class that ive been meaning to do for a while, and visit people I dont get to see that often. At least the food budget is much lower - ex always wanted a proper full meal whereas im happier doing something like pasta or jacket potato, I think I could feed myself and the cat for £60 a month!

Right, im off, got plenty to be getting on with - hope you all have a lovely day and those feeling yucky recover quickly.

    Jo xx

    Morning :hello:

Goodness, everybody seems to be ill (or insomniac) this morning! I'm fine - touch wood :o

My two days of behaving myself have already completely gone to pot :o I have fallen off two wagons - the wine one AND the bacon sandwich one! :o Still, the one thing I really needed was a really good night's sleep, and I (sort of) got that. I was in bed and asleep before midnight, which is pretty good by my standards, and I woke up feeling very rested this morning in spite of having woken up from a nightmare at 5:30 with my heart pounding  (it was about somebody planting a bomb in my office, and the managers not letting anybody leave the building  )

I have a meeting later with the director of my department to talk about my future with the company, as the project I'm on will soon be over. The meeting was my idea, but unfortunately I have no clear idea what I want to achieve from it. I am absolutely certain they won't make me redundant, but I don't want to end up in a new job by default that's completely wrong for. me. I'd also like to start doing some company-sponsored study, but not sure in what field! This director likes me and seems to know me pretty well, so I'm hoping some bright ideas will be forthcoming.

Nice to see you back on the daily thread nicki - sorry you and DD aren't well. Do you know where johanne's got to? - she hasn't been on for some time either and we do worry about her.

I downloaded a couple of recipes from the BBC website yesterday - spag bol and chilli con carne - I've never made either to a proper recipe (i.e. without skipping half the herbs & spices and sneaking loads of surplus veggies in!) so will be trying both out. Will be starting this evening with a batch of chilli con carne; picked up most of the ingredients yesterday but need a bunch of fresh coriander, so will be getting that from Elsey & Bent on Borough Market at lunchtime. Also managed to pick up two tubs of guacamole redued to 10p at Tesco yesterday which should go with it nicely!

    Breakfast - bacon sarnie
Lunch - final portion of chicken & veg noodles
    Dinner - chilli con carne

Edit: How could I possibly have forgotten to say ((((hugs)))) to JackieO

    See you later

i've not been on MSE much recently (well, relative to what my addiction thinks it needs!) so haven't been posting on here. sadly i've been working far too much - well into the evening as well as all day - but the end is in sight!

hope everyone who had a bad night's sleep has an ok day and a better night tonight.

sadly i don't really have much to say about things at the moment - all my herbs have come up - the coriander had me worried but is now looking promising, and the carrots are getting bigger by the day. i've been so busy that i need to spend a good few hours doing tidying and cleaning to get back on track, but after being at w**k for 10 hours there's only so much i can be bothered to do!

    Hiya

Big (((((Hugs))))) to JackieO. I will be thinking about you. We haven't had my dad's birthday (since he died) yet but I can imagine sort of how you feel.

I'm totally the opposite to most on here with the sleeping thing. I'm comatosed and can;t wake myself up... DOH pointed out to me it could be the hayfever tablets  which I suppose could be the reasoning behind it!

Weather not to bad here out of the office window today bit overcast but nothing too bad!

Went to Asda last night and picked up some cracking bargains (well I though so)
    Purple sprouting broccoli 15p
    half dozen large cobs 5p
    4 Tiger paw cobs 10p
8 Cinamon and rasin bagels 30p
    !!!!ake mushrooms 15p
Asparagus, mange tout and sweetcorn 20p
Spinach, watercress and rocket salad bag 10p

Had planned a stir fry for tea tonight so did really well!! Plus OH took Tiger paws and salad to work for lunch!

Also, went to Home Bargains and got some Stardrops (concentrated) and Starclen. Also got 3 microfibre cloths (Loved my other one so much!) for 69p all because someone had removed one from the box and shoved it back in again :rotfl: Ooo wonderful, all to my gain!

Have a chicken that I want to joint tonightnever done one before so should be fun!

    Breakfast - Apple and nana
Lunch - Duch crispbreads and Phili
    Tea - Stir fry

Have a nice day all, hope the lack of sleep doesn't cause problems!
    Lyndsey x
