well my exam was horrible, but its over. A friend took 'her poor student friend' i.e. me out to lunch to celebrate then I fell asleeo in front of her tv - oops.
Now back at home looking at the small bomb that appears to have gone off in everyroom. Ah - hold on - that's just my mess - not an actual war zone
Boyf gets his stiches out this afternoon. fingers crossed it hasn't hurt. Dad got all clear from his op and his rehab is going well too. His big 5-0 was yesterday, but no big trauma happenedMy mum was worried he was going to buy a sports car  .

r.macr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
way to go lillibet on the productive day.
I had the dreaded phone call saying we are back in work tomorrow. so i had best add some ironing to my list.
I've now crossed 14 things off my list. 5 more to do still. 2 of those are part done, but still a lot of dreaded marking to do. Now having another break to watch home and away, but then i'll do a bit more. I'll have to stop fairly early though as i'm feeling a bit pooped. It's amazing how being so productive motivates you isn't it.
I need to keep plodding on.

YooHoo everybody!
I'm here late today as well. I was at w*** today as always on a Tuesday, but didn't get sufficient opportunity to post.
I saw up last night reading until 2.30 am (or was it later??) - I was reading one of the texts for my forthcoming English lit exam, but it is genuinely an interesting read, hence late lights out. Annoyingly I was awake again at 7.00 am and am a bit knacked now.
JW, shame you are feeling rough on your days off. Fingers crossed you will be restored to good health quickly and at least by the time your exam comes.
R.Mac...don't worry about your exam. I should imagine doing a law conversion there isn't really any such thing as an "easy" paper. You've put the work in, so I'm sure you'll be fine.
Sweet Pea - happy birthday...hope you received lots of fantastic pressies and beautiful cards.
Moggins...where are you????
Chipps...wear those trousers lots, in a few weeks they'll be too big too! You must have felt fantastic when the zips on them just slipped up, you must be looking great and feeling confident. Well done, you deserve to feel great!
After work I had a stroll around B&Q - Katrina-Trying-To-Save mentioned that she picked up a stray slow cooker in her nearest branch for about a fiver. Of course there weren't any in the store I visited - a slow cooker for £5 sounds too good to be true!! I think I should go to a few boot sales after my exams, maybe I'll pick one up for a song.
That's all for now, have to do some more studying.
Bye!

Hello everyone :hello:
jo - glad you're feeling a little better.
MATH - really pleased to hear about Mrs MATH's new job!
Lillibet - I've got a couple of things that need putting onto ebay, as you're so efficient do you mind if I borrow you?
Well, I now have a "relaxing" end to the week - yes, 3 days of it! Tomorrow and Friday I have my "NQT time" because I'm a new teacher. Because the head is so disorganised and most other people have half a day each week...... he's lumped mine together. On Thursday I have my PPA time for 3hrs of the day......... so the next time that I will properly see my class is next Monday!
When I got home from work this evening, I found that our latest Tesco Clubcard mailing has arrived! Loads of points! We're already able to hire our car on honeymoon, so I'm just trying to decide what to do with the rest of the vouchers. :T :T :T
Tonight I think we're having a honey soy salmon. We got the recipe from a Good Food magazine a couple of years ago and it's now one of our favourites - just a little bit luxurious (well, it's salmon!) for us. I'll have to bite the bullet tomorrow and go for our weekly shop.:o Such is life.
I'll have to go and prepare our lunch for tomorrow. The past couple of days I've taken in either branflakes or weetabix, so I think it's time to make an effort
See you all later

I have done a Rosemary Conley chicken in madeira wine sauce thing tonite, was yummy (bit like chasseur sauce) with veg and no potatoes for me!
but then made a Rhubarb crumble (twink - if i chop up rest of rhubarb and bag it, is that ok to freeze? or doesnt it freeze too well ie. go watery) from offerings from a neighbour, and baked another victoria sponge (a la Delia) but it didnt rise up as well this time, but seems to look ok. I wont be having any of that though!

Hello and thanks for your birthday wishes,
Today I have had the day off work, and as its not only my birthday but also my wedding anniversary too, OH has also had the day off work in honour of the event.
We went to visit the Back to Back houses in Birmingham using our National trust cards that we bought by saving up all the change. How O/S is that! There is also a very old style sweetie shop there but I didnt succumb. It was fascinating to see how people used to live, these are the last of the back to back "courts" left in Birmingham, my mum used to live in one similar until she was 6, the last people to leave were there until 1966. We had a sandwich in the Bullring in Birmingham and a wander round then collected DD's from school and headed out to a local carvery for tea, so a very nice day all in all. OH has found time to plant outside my runner beans whilst I sat on the settee and read my new book "Its not easy being green" which has been my old style contribution to the day.
At the weekend my mum bought DD's a beatiful baby rabbit (called Tipsy) she is a dwarf lop eared bundle of fluff at the moment and very cute. Eldest dd has taken numerous piccies of her and e-mailed them to all her friends. Today she has hopped around our garden like she was hopping a marathon.
Hugs to all.0 -
Good morning
It absolutely poured with rain here last night. This roof is so loud. It's a tin roof and it sounded like a freight train was right next to me as well as a snoring monster.Had to give DH a few kicks to try and make him stop but no luck there.
I'm so glad Math, that the missushas found a job and I hope MIL is holding up to the treatment well.
Smokey I remembered it was your dad's birthday yesterday but I forgot to put it in last night when I wrote. Hope your dinner was lovely.
B Rzl I was sipping my instant when you made my mouth drool with the frapp you described. I love em. But they are so dear & fattening of course. You deserve a treat though. So when you do let me know what it tastes like.
VickyA How's the wedding prep going?
Well I will get going. Hopefully today will bring me some good news. Solicitor ringing me up this morning so fingers crossed. Will go and put some washing on as the sun is shining brightly. :jGood night.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Morning Guys
As you can tell by the time I didnt sleep well last night:rolleyes: Never mind!
WM will be going on shortly, but the weather doesnt look too promising. DW needs unloading as forgot to ask DD and toilet has been cleaned. Rest of house is fine! DD's lunchbox already to go, just need water from the fridge.
OH popped into Asda last night and managed to buy some loaves of bread for 4p each:eek: that was about it really. He was a little bit disappointed but better than nothing. Think he is continuing with the garden furniture today and getting the windows done...in and out. Also have to go up the hospital, but shouldnt be up there long.
Hopefully, I can catch up on some rest later as not feeling great and have only got about 5hrs kip. Will also need to do a spot of reading for me course.
Anyway, best go as I need a cuppa and a biccie. HUgs to all and hope everyone has a great day.
Breakfast: Bacon butty
Lunch:Baked Spud, ham, coleslaw and salad
