  • I second an epidural, the only reason I had a third baby was because I was adamant that I would have an epidural again as my birth experience second time round was so much better, unfortunately things don't always go to plan and I never did get it, my third labour and birth was by far the worst of all 3 of them.

Oh fab starnac. You just answered a question I've been wondering about for ages.... I've seen Seren in couple of places now, a shop name and a contractor, and wondered if it actually means something. Now I know! Thanks. :)
    DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!
Proud to have dealt with my debts!
  • I lost lots of blood having all 3 of my girls, 1 litre with DD1, 600ml with DD2 and 2 litres with DD3. had to have a blood transfusion with DD1, ended up in A&E 9 weeks after with an infection, then had problems bleeding on the pill so stopped taking it to give my body a break and to get back to normal on its own and then when DD1 was 4 months old found myself pregnant with DD2 after dtd once. I'm just glad I'm not having any more, I envy women who go in, have a baby and come out a few hours later and are going out and about, after having DD3 I was in the delivery room for over 24 hours.

You poor thing. That sounds so bad. I'm getting nervous now! I just know I won't be having a good time of labour

  • To be honest the pain of labour was worse for me (more than the stitches etc) as I have a very low pain threshold, with DD1 I had Pethidine and with DD3 I had Meptid, I would avoid both of those as they make you drowsy so you sleep between contractions and wake up when the contraction comes and I hated that, the epidural was fantastic, the midwife asked me if I could feel any contractions and I said no as I couldn't feel a thing, it was wearing off when she was ready to come out.

Funny as after DD1 I swore I wasn't doing that again and here I am with 3 of them. OH's brother and SIL have 6 children. You forget all about it when you hold the baby in your arms - definitely worth it.

  • Hey everyone,

starnac - that's a scary story. glad your DD is fine now.

Have you decided about the hen night yet? I'm not sure I'd have the courage to be honest about the money situation unless it was a really close friend. Some people wouldn't bat an eyelid if you said you couldn't afford it anyway, they'd just expect you to whack it on the credit card! Could you maybe go but save money by not drinking (invent an excuse e.g. antibiotics)? Mind you, I'm not sure the idea of being the only sober one at a hen party really appeals though!

savingholmes, what are you writing? A novel?

Well I had a pretty MSE week last week, but it was also a bit dramatic. I think my guardian angel has been working overtime. I came centimetres from being hit by a speeding car that went through a red light while I was crossing the road, and have also been followed twice by dodgy characters late at night. Luckily I'm ok, but the car incident really shook me up. Here's hoping this week will be more uneventful.

Hope your okay Snow White. HOpe your not taking any chances late at night. I get taxis everywhere late at night. I just don't think it's worth saving the money when there are so many loonies about.

Please take a taxi if you are out late
