Not really sure what I am going to do with October's budget as Mr. Fire Fox is moving out on the 7th. I'm devastated and have been struggling to eat. :(

Just remember to eat something each day. I went through this and it affected my appetite big style and I lost my appetite and desire to cook.

Take care my dear Fire Fox, please try and eat what ever you like to make sure you eat something. hugs sent as required from someone who knows how it feels.

• Hi all-especially Mrs M-Ive not been on here for AGES due to working extra hours, new job,etc etc. No idea of my spending for August and September-I was doing fine until end of July then I didnt get the time to focus on it. However-old habits die hard and my old habit is being careful with money so Im really not concerned regarding my lack of accounts. Keeping track for the first 2 quarters have proven to me that my targets are acheivable and my extra income will help when DH retires, which is probably New Year(he has been leaving since May).
Just have to find my son a job now! He may get one with me but its only 12 hours per week-however-he says he would rather do that than signon! Crossed fingers that my boss gives him the job which is going spare!
Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults
• Guiltily confessing to a badly thought-out spend today - stuff I should have been able to make but just ran out of time! Did get some whoopsied chicken breasts, but also bought some ice lollies that this late summer sunshine put the family in the mood to want. And then there was the homage to Mr Kipling, the crisps, the half-bottle of wine (we don't drink much so it hangs around too long in "proper" bottles!). Aargh - should have known better, I know - will try harder tomorrow, I promise.

Good evening. Just an update on the spending for last week (12-18 Sep). Totted everything up and it came to £31.14 - so I was under by £14.86 - take that vet bill! I did a 'shop' through the cupboards, fridge and freezer last weekend and came up with a use it up menu. I was surprised by how many things I had to turn into meals, but last week's superstar was a rubber chicken done in the slow cooker. Hubby and I totted up we got at least 6+ meals for the four of us out of it. Real value for money - essential at the moment but also really pleasing that we didn't waste any of it.
Still on for a £50 budget per week for all of October, it will be a bit harder because I just found out I have been accepted for an NVQ course for 'Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools' which means I have to work at school at least one whole day a week, and do one evening per week at college - this means MORE planning than usual as I will have less cooking time. But I'm not complaining, this may well be a route back to work for me that still keeps me around for the smalls. Sorry for the essay.

Thanks all for your good wishes. I've actually eaten something resembling two small meals today; a couple of days ago I took six hours to eat my breakfast. :o

NSD today so nothing to add challenge-wise but I wanted to thank carolt2 and rosieben for explaining to me why some people 'declare' mid-month. It makes a lot more sense now, thank you :j

Time for an update I think...

My yearly budget is running at £973.73 out of a total budget of £1320 so pretty much on target!:j £16.27 left for Sept if I am to stay on target. I only need some eggs and yoghurt and possibly wee bit of fruit/veg next weekend to seem me until the end of the month which should not come to anywhere near £16 odd. Fingers crossed...

I did a big shop today to use up a £2 off a £20 spend in MrT but really struggled to buy £20 worth of stuff! What a change from before! :rotfl: I spent £19.75 (after the £2 taken off) but £2.20 of that was stationery, £1 on ice cube tray, £1 on a masher so only ~3/4 of it was food. I've got another £2 off a £20 spend to use before the 4th Oct so I need to have a good think about what to get as my store cupborads are heaving and I could barely close my freezer today! :o I need to eat bulky food for the next week or so to make more room... :rotfl:

First, a dodgy hug to FireFox :grouphug: Been there, done that, worn the bluddin T-shirt & wish I'd written the book :doh:Unfortunately I am one of those who turns to food in times of crisis, so it's really no surprise my waistline is the same around as the coastline of a small South Pacific island :o I CAN say though..YOU WILL get through this, mostly because WE will help you, OK Babes? :kisses3:

Now. Food. I had a blinding brainwave yesterday after the offspring caught me cooking up some pinto beans & yellow split peas SIZE=1]used the last of the YSP & won't be getting any more as we are not keen on the tastewhich was supposed to be meatballs :shhh: but I couldn't be bothered to shape themUnidentified Funny Lumps[/SIZE :jso fingers X for the same reaction to tonight's lasagne.
Two litres of *cough* LongSIZE=1]erthan it was destined to be ;)[SIZE=2 went to make a rice pud for yesterday & the white sauce for the lasagne, so a productive day all told.

• Good morning everyone

Firefox: So sorry to hear your news. Please try to be gentle with yourself.

I have a day off work today so plan to make muffins and chop loads of leeks for the freezer to make hm soups throughout the autumn. Have looked out my thermos to allow me to carry soup for my lunch.

Have also taken out some roast lamb for dinner which was left over from a Sunday lunch thus freeing up some space in freezer for leeks.

Hope everyone has a good day and hugs to everyone who needs them.:grouphug:
