Running is absolutely great for "me time".....my problem is the kick up the bum that is needed to actually get me over the doorstep in the first placeSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. Kick up bum administered!!!:D
Had a lovely weekend, chilled out on Saturday and just went to the local shops. Trying not to spend too much money on food but quite like buying locally as well as everyone is so nice to you when you go inWas out walking for ages on Sat, walked to gym and back with friend, then took kids to shop via park so dogs could have a run and then walked to swimming lessons and back!! Snow is certainly making me work hard!!
My bonus of the weekend was a full dinner service (8 of everything!) from charity shop for £8 :j:j:j to replace my battered Ikea one - really pleased with it!
Went out for my 13 miler this morning but it was going to be above waist high snow drifts and my far more experienced fell running colleague pointed out that it would be a fell walk rather than run so we opted to leave the others to it and did a safer run. Took us 2 hours and did about 10 miles but he is really so much faster than me and I was knackered. We did eat xmas cake at the top of a hill which was niceReally really ache now but haven't proceeded to eat my whole body weight so feel quite proud of myself!
All other fellow runners - it really is good for mental wellbeing and it is just as Hypno says getting out there. Planning a race is the best inspiration!
Inapickle - brilliant news about the job interview :T

Now, if I had someone to run with......it would be a different matter.....Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Isn't there someone you could run with........?
The weather has stopped me going out with the running club as it's too far away to walk/run but fortunately I met the bloke round the corner through the club and he has proved very good! I don't have any excuses for not going and he is Mr Speedy, I just run after him in hope I will one day catch up.....

Well done on the NSD :T I went to tesco so a big spend day for me.
Nope, no one to run withI used to run with dad.......then when Pania lived nearby I occasionally went with her.....running clubs start too early for me to get to after work, and I don't know anyone else who is mad enough to run.....
When I was doing FLM, I was easily motivated into getting out there and putting my milage in, and certainly wouldn't have spent a Sunday sat on the sofa....but since then, I WANT to do it, just don't seem to be able to......I need a big goal to work towards......that's why I am hoping I get in the GNR.

Sounds like a fun and exhilarating weekend! And Christmas cake at the top of the hill makes you sound human! Love it :T
Yes, finding someone to run regularly with would be good. I keep saying I'm going to join a club, it would be really good. I've been out with my friend's club a few times and have run miles without realising or feeling it.0 -
I think it's just easier with someone else as you can talk and they encourage. There was a website I found ages ago, something like Jogging buddies?? where there were people who were looking for people to run with, but I suppose there is the remote possibility that they are axe murderers and arranging to meet them late one evening is potentially life threatening................
I had a look at the running club thread but I got really scared by the statistics and ran away again :rotfl:
