I didn't know GNR ballot was open yet? - I know that the Daily Mirror newspaper have 3000 places up for grabs and you have until Friday 8th to enter, they let you know next week if you're in.
I was just about to enter me and hubby for Bupa Great Yorkshire Run (Sheffield 10k) - its the week before the GNR - but can't afford 2 x £26 fees at the mo
Macgirl - I am interested to hear more about your toe nails:o - I have lost one on each foot due to running, what causes it? My trainers are plenty big enough. Also thanks everyone for the BD wishes by the way - We had a great party and dare I say a little too much wine - but I am now back on the straight and narrow!Emergency Savings Fund - £11002015 Mortgage overpayments = £0 -
Hi Miss O
Yes, The Mirror ballot is the one. You can enter online and even if you don't get a place - you will be automatically entered into the main ballot.
At £44 it is not cheap though....
My toenail incident was not caused by running (well unless up the stairs counts). I just bashed it. About 5 weeks ago, I had my nails "gelled" at a friend's house. A level of pampering I'd never normally get to, but I felt pressurised and as it lasts for 4/5 weeks I thought "ok". The nails are then rock hard and chip proof, so when I stubbed my toe, the strength of the gelled nail ripped it off
Very painful at the time, but I just keep putting new plasters on as I can't bear to look at it - half hanging off0 -
Hello
Work wasn't great, I know I don't help myself as I am so desperate to go now and know what I want to do that I get irritated at the absolute slightest thing that happens  Think I might have to sit in a cupboard for a few minutes every day and do some deep breathing!
Re the GNR, think I deleted my priority entry email thingy but considering I am running 56 miles on 4th/5th September so don't think I would be fit for 13 miles on 19th Sept! Wanted to do Sheffield 10k as well as I did it last year but have a slight conflict! £44 is massive isn't it to enter the run, only cost me £26 for the Marathon and £17 to run 56 miles - on which note Royal Mail haven't delivered my first class recorded delivery which was sent on 23rd December yet!! The VLM deadline closes on Friday!!!!
Toenails are such nasty things. I have a real phobia about them and can't even touch mine or my kids :eek::eek: If OH dares to try and play footsie in bed it makes me scream and shudder :rotfl: No more toe nails on this thread - uuurggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I am warm now and I am going to wear my bed socks in bed to get the full £4 use out of them! On my way home tonight from work I had the following attire on:-
two jumpers, jeans, bed socks, big boots, coat, scarf, hat, two pairs of gloves and I was still bl00dy cold!

Hi IMD
I dont know how i came to read your blog, but i just want to add how empowering it is.
Unlike you, I do not have money/familiy responsibilities but I sympathise regards your job situation- i am a gradute currently in a clerical job hoping for something more. Your job goal has made me realise if you can make time to strive for a new job, I also can be disiplined to do so. So from this week onwards i aim to apply for at least 4 jobs/wk [if i can find that many!].
I look forward to following your diary.
[btw- i do have a student loan i just dont know what to do with!!]0 -

Hello
It is boring as hell looking for a job and can be demoralising when there is nothing or if I don't hear back, but I am setting aside half an hour every day to just go on the internet and check on some sites I have registered with. I'm also going to send my CV to some firms directly as that is how I've got my last 4 jobs in 16 years - never applied to an advert before.
I could stick with where I am but I know I could be happier elsewhere. Good luck, hope you find something!
You could lend your student loan to me :rotfl:1st debt - Next [STRIKE]£583.32[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£408.71 [/STRIKE] £0 :j
