Yes, I like that idea too. It will boost your self-esteem too and make you feel you are actually getting somewhere.
Glad you had a good day, sorry about your friend, hope she comes up trumps for you soon - til then, you'll just have to put up with us :)
  • Hi IMD, sorry you've had such a trying time this week.

Like someone else said, the car is an essential much like housing costs, and you sorted it all out really quickly, so now, just let it go. You did your very best.

I like your plan re listing one debt at a time. My overall debt somehow became easier to deal with when I split it onto 3 CCs, rather than the one it was with originally, which just semed like throwing pebbles into a big pond! It just seemed easier to tackle it psycologically that way, for me at least. So stop thinking about the totality of it, perhaps, and just focus on clearing that Next account for now.

You can run marathons, so I know you can definitely deal with this!

We all have faith in you on here

Ok day whatever in scary land and I'm still here!

Boiler being a little bit naughty, but now I've filled it up too much and it is leaking from the overpipe

Raining and I need to do my long run :(

Done the figures, I need an extra £320 for the car payment but won't need it until Council tax is paid at the end of the month so I have few weeks to get stuff sorted and one of these is my ebay stuff. It didn't sell as a job lot so we're shoving it on individually today *yawn* but it will bring some money in and hopefully for pay for the extra car money and also towards Next.

Will report back later when I will have to be carried home on a stretcher....

As you said to me, perfect weather for a run ;)

I went out yesterday and it was drizzling in a biting/icy way, but by the end there was sunshine, a cool breeze and even a Rainbow! Bliss

The Ebay stuff is worth the last push to bring in cash and ease pressure of car payments. Fingers crossed for OH's bonus. Have a good day xxx

Enjoy the run - just relax into it, and don't worry about the weather.

I hope the ebay marathon goes well. I may dip my toe back into the ebay water again - I found a couple of bits that should go on there, and I need to get into the garage to properly sort out what should go to a car boot and pencil a date in the diary to do one of those.....see if I can get rid of a bit of tat.

    Have a good one x

i can't remember if your ebay account is a business one or not, but they are changing the rules on private accounts on how many things you can list at once etc - i'm not trying to put a damper on things, just wanted you to be aware. if you do a search on the forum or have a look at the ebay board there is a thread on there.

if you do buy to sell and are still private at the mo (as i think you are planning on stopping after this) you could buy the items on one account and sell on another?

good luck on hitting those debts one at a time - fab idea x

    Hi IMD,

Sorry to hear that you have been feeling a bit stressed and teary re the debts.:( You may remember that I felt exactly like that a couple of weeks ago , and you told me that we WILL "both" get through this and we will , sweets. :A . We have both got a long journey ahead of us but we can do it "hand in Hand";)

hi, i'm another one who's with you on the splitting debts down to the nth degree and working on one at a time whilst the rest tick over.
Last week i could pay off one of my loans, and it's been a year since i've had the high of paying something off completely, but it's a feeling i have been keeping in my memory to keep me not ransacking the savings i had which were to pay off the loan early. I have to admit i had to focus immediately on my next target although i have surprised myself as i didn't immediately think i must go out and celebrate by spending money.
we are here for you when you need us.
  • Hi imd hope you enjoy the run, i like the idea of one target at a time in the signiture it is one i may adopt it is also of late my thinking that for my own momentum i may pay some low balances off and then gradually build up to the motto of high intrest cards its just some of the cards are big and it would take months to feel a momentum so i wanted the rush nowwww :S anyway catch up soon x ps can someone explain the snowball to me where it says including minimum payments how much do you want to pay on top do i just put what extra i want to pay or do i add all minimum payments and what i want to pay on top because when i do that its wiping the amount off the highintrest instead of meeting my minimum payments and say using 200 off a credit card etc its really cofuzzled me:S

I'm baaaacckkkkkk. Have done 20 miles in 3 hours and did not think about the debt once :j Thought about how tired I was and my legs were falling off, and I was hungry so my little brain was too frazzled for anything else :rotfl:

Just glad it's over with. Going to recover with some lunch and chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, chocolate :D

Having a relaxing afternoon and then an evening of ebay - ahh the joys! FSM - I'll have a look at that ebay thread and limit what I list on ebay.

HTGDF - you just need to put the total figure you want to pay towards debt each month in the box. When you put the figures for each debt in you need to put what % or figure the minimum payment is and so it calculates those for you.

40SM - that's what great about here though, that we are here for each other. I *think* I will get through this, all just feels a bit too much at the moment but am starting to bounce back.
