Had a good night after all, no money passed my hands and returned home to OH and money making ideas.
Even though I have a new extortionate figure rolling around in my head, my DFD isn't that far different from the original and I actually feel a teeny weeny more relaxed about it as I know the REAL figure and no hidden surprises. My issue is two debts (which includes the new car debt) are on interest paying cards so I really need to focus on them.
Think I felt so sad yesterday as I rang my friend who knows all about the money problems and she was basically too busy too talk and I just felt hurt and let down. I am there at the drop of a hat for her and have been a lot recently. I did text her and tell her how let down I feel and haven't really been able to speak to her since. I know we all have busy lives but surely five minutes isn't too much to ask. She has apologised, it just made me feel lonely
But onwards and upwards, have some scratchies to do today (well one until I learn how to do the others), considering Match betting as well and then we are out on a free day out with the kids. I also have my last long run in preparation for the marathon to do, so that will be a free head clearer!!
Theoretically I'm no worse off than I was yesterday so that's good1st debt - Next [STRIKE]£583.32[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£408.71 [/STRIKE] £0 :j

I'm glad you had a good evening. But you are right, this whole debt thing can feel very lonely at times. That is why I find this site invaluable to me and my progress.
Enjoy your day out - I will be painting (again) but may try and get out for a walk round the block later. Good luck with the last long run - I quite enjoyed my last one before the big day......it was very relaxed, whereas the others I felt pressure to do them in order to tick off that box on the training plan, IYSWIM!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hi IMD, i am glad that you told your friend how let down you felt, i too did this recently i just had to say it as she let me down and i too am always there for her.
You always have us.xxx0 -
Hey IMD!
Sorry you have had a rough few days but:
1) At least the car is sorted out now.
2) You feel rubbish about adding to your debt, but as a follower I see it as a MASSIVE positive sign: the fact that you are actually acknolwedging the difference this makes to your finances and not just sticking your head in the sand as you stick in on a CC or sign another loan agreement shows how far you have come since you started tackling your debts. OK, so it does add a few months to your DFD overall, but in the grand scheme of things it's not so much more extra time, and as I said before, it this had happened while you still had your head in the sand, it might have sent you under properly. As it is, you are still ploughing away, and yes, this is a pothole on the road (*badum, tish* bad pun alert), but if you feel this bad about buying a necessity, at least the chances of you running out and buying a pile of stuff unecessarily are slim at best, so well done! *Huge round of applause*
Keep going cos you are doing brilliantly. I guess this is like debt marathon training in a way...you've just turned your ankle slightly and it will make training for the big event harder and more painful for a while, but overall it hasn't stopped you training and you will still get to run the race on the big day. Please call me 'Pickle'

Totally agree with everything Pickle has said and sometimes we will have big unexpected expenses on the way to debt freedom and it can be a long slog but so worth it as we see the debt going down.0

Well I ended up having a lovely day with the kids. It had the potential to go t*ts up when the place we had planned was too busy but we found somewhere else. The kids had a brilliant time and me and OH even held hands
:rotfl: I nearly fainted - must act more stressed more often!
Have gone through debts with a fine tooth comb. The smallest debt is one with Next which is the highest APR and the outstanding amount is £583.32 so that is the first one I will tackle and that is very achievable and will go in my signature - baby steps and all that.
Going to do long run tomorrow now as doing ironing. Me and OH also agree if stuff on ebay as job lot doesn't sell now then we will put them on as individual items together tonight
Off to amend signature and do the very very exciting ironing - not :cool:1st debt - Next [STRIKE]£583.32[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£408.71 [/STRIKE] £0 :j

Good idea to put one debt at a time in the sig and to concentrate on that. A bit of focus and luck and you will have that one gone in just a few weeks, which will motivate you on to the next one.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground.
