  • I have one, but she is the kind of person who would ask not to pay rent one month, or suggest after she moves in that the rent is too high! We haven't had too much trouble in the past finding people, so we will see how it goes. There is def. less people looking than before, and more houses available though :O.
But I like to think our house is lovely, so everyone will want to live there! We have had 3 lovely lodgers so far, so i have a horrible feeling we are due a nasty one....
Do you have a lodger September?

  • I know how you feel, intially me and OH were both like, oh we really don't want one, blah blah. We are also very private! But an extra £500 a month goes a long way when you have taken out a ridiculous mortgage (like we have...)

She is def. not a good idea - she asked before (when we had a lodger) and OH was no way to her!!

Maybe you could double the bathroom as a bedroom? put a matress in the bath??:rotfl:

  • Im getting a roommate, or meant to be in november, its a friend that i have known for years so im sure itll be fun. I dont think I could invite a stranger into my house though Mel, for the 3 good people you have had move in, id get the 3 nutter counter parts.
  • True - I think we are due a total weirdo!! We have had loads of people look in the past, but I just think people know when they are compatible - everyone who has said yes has been my first choice person. We have had a few slightly strange people to look around - one guy was so creepy I stood right by the door with my phone in my hand just in case!! :O and I was in the house by myself!
I will let you know how i get on with the search x

  • Right, a viewing tonight with an Irish girl who sounds quite nice and two viewings on Monday with males - not convinced by the sounds of either of them but i'll meet them before I judge them...
Month has not gone entirely to plan with debt busting, but still a nice whack off the total.
My aim for this month was to pay off £2,059 (total, not capital). I'm not going to make that, but am not miles off. So far have paid off £1,483, and am hoping to make a payment of more than £350 at the end of the month. If I pay off what I have budgeted left, I will have paid off £1,998 - nearly £2k! That actually sounds quite good so I won't beat myself up too much about missing the target.

Am going to miss the target by miles next month due to bills....

  • Thats amazing to pay of almost 2k in a month ! 93% wooooo !
  • Hi Mel!

I hope the viewing went ok?

Don't feel too bad about maybe not hitting this months target. You've still done extremely well. Those are numbers some people wouldn't even dream of so you're doing brilliantly. Don't be too hard on yourself. :);)

Sorry to hear you're not so optimistic for next month. Darned bills! You will soon catch up though I'm sure of it.
    :T

Do you have any nice MSE plans for the weekend?
