I feel very down today - am staring at my spreadsheets and feel as though there is no end in sight. We need to get an extractor fan fitted in the bathroom as the ceiling is going mouldy and then it needs to be replastered, so thats £100. The ceiling in the kitchen has to be redone as the toilet waste pipe has been leaking and thats £335 for the plumber and then about £700 for ceiling, but insurance will hopefully cover the ceiling. And the bank have not come back to me about the fraud and the ebay money is tied up in there (about £300). My bf is having problems with ex employers who owe him £1000 but are refusing to pay, so may have to go to court to get it - but i'm worried we will lose and be stuck with their solicitors costs (even though we are in the right).

    Its so depressing

Everything always comes at the same time, its rubbish but you have clearly done amazing since you LBM.

As long as you can make your min payments and pay the bills the rest is just extra and if you have to cut back on how much extra your paying so be it. Youll still be debt free in like less than a year by the looks of your diary. Which is amazing ! :T I know its rubbish some days but youll get the money back im sure of it and then everything else will just fall into place.

Thanks Claire - thats made me feel much better!
Anyway, whilst I should be working, I am looking at my finace spreadsheet. I am earmarking 10 September as the day I clear my season ticket loan which will be lovely.
That will mean just just five (albeit large!) credit cards will be remaining.

My aims then will be to clear one credit card by end of October and another by end of December.

Ultimate aim by end of year is to have paid off £30k since LBM. I think I am about £1k off target, but we will see if I make that one as it will be a massive push...
    Paying down the mortgage:
    At 1 October 2011: £226,000
    Currently: £224,499
    Aim: 85% LTV (£212,500)
    Paid £1,500
    Target remaining: 88.89%

    Thanks September!
We have a MSE weekend planned - I have 3 mystery shops during the day (total pay of £15 plus reimbursements) and then we have a pub to review this evening for £21. Hooray!
Hopefully that means a cheap weekend, although I need to pay for my brother in laws bday present and for xmas lunch at work :O
We have electrician coming tomorrow to fit extractor for bathroom so hopefully will stop any further damage to ceiling....but only time will tell.
    Have a nice weekend all.
Oh, I nearly forgot! Some good news on the fraud front - the bank have reimbursed the money but are still looking into where it has gone. On bad news front, they have had to block my account again as someone has been trying to access my account again - that makes me angry!! stop trying to steal my money!!

  • Glad you got your money back Mel, thats terrible your still getting your account hacked into. Good that they stopped it before it happened this time though.

Also can I review this pub with you, i will help with review of the vodka, orange and lemonade.
  • Sounds like you have a packed weekend planned! Should keep you very busy!

I so need to get into this mystery shopping and reviewing stuff, sounds great. How did you go about it?

And on the xmas lunch- sounds expensive!!! At our place we have a free daytime lunch on the last day, and an optional evening party sometime in december which costs a fortune.

Needless to say I only ever go to the free one! :D Can't you just be an outsider and not attend? (I know its boring but....)

  • Its our only event this year - we normally get a free summer party but that was cancelled :(
Its £30, so think I will try to find the money to go as its only the loners who don't come and its an afternoon off work!
The sites which I use are retaileyes, GAPBuster and TNS. I do a few things with cybershop but they are never fun!
The threads on mystery shopping are really good to have a quick read off and I have an alert on the mystery shop job board so I know when good jobs come up!

Claire I will post you the vodka - can't guarentee it won't leak out in the post though! I love mystery shopping so much. I can't remember the last time we paid for a meal out. If your not already doing it, sign up! I can see from your signature that you won't taking jobs from my patch (as you are in Scotland and I'm down south).

  • Ah I see - our paying one is in the evening so I'd rather just stay at home! Think if I would get an afternoon off work I would go though!! :rotfl:

Thanks I will have a look at those sites! And the board. :T

    Well enjoy it! :)

Hopefully I will think of some free stuff to do this weekend!!

A good MSE weekend - bought some cat food on my mystery shop, so should keep the cat happy, and some cakes with other mystery shops so should keep OH happy!
£93 to Barclaycard today and £80 to Citicard as well. i have already "budgeted" to pay off the season ticket card so have removed it from my signature to make myself do it. I don't want to embarrass myself in front of everyone now, do i??
Am not too far off my £20k target for Xmas - but at the moment I am including everything paid - not capital paid off. Once I have reached £20k paid I will reset my target for £20k paid off - geddit? (i think I may have confused myself...)
