Ive just downloaded my bank statement and I too have 3 transactions.
1x O2 prepay @ £30
1x Orange prepay @ £30
1x Orange prepay @ £20
Thats £80 out of my account. Only by chance I found them loading my statement into MS Money where I have to accept each transaction. Thanks to Bill Gate for a change.
Best check my credit cards now
Anyone know how this has happened. Ive had to use those stupid cash mashines that charge you a fee a few times. Thats all I can think of.0 -
btw, yes i have canceled my card. Thanks in advance0

Its sickening now, each of us are paying for these scroats to enjoy themselves. When will the law actually do something about catching these crooks.0

Just checking my bank statement on line and noticed the o2 prepay topup for £30 too. I was actually looking for a charge I did make! I was shocked after reading this forum - found it on Google - so we called the credit card company and they are stopping the card and sending a new one. Worst part of this is we only got this new card about a month ago as the card company said they had cards that had become compromised (they didn't know if ours was one of them or not) so we are now having to stop the direct debits again! This is getting a bit old.
Another interesting point I read here is about the petrol pay-at-pumps - looking at my statement 2 days before this fraudulent charge, we had a charge at the ASDA pay-pump...maybe there is something to that theory.
Very happy I checked my online statement when I did!!0 -
Yea I got the O2 treatment as well last December, along with another £1000 worth of stuff. Got it all back, which is good. I phoned O2 as well though and they blocked his phone too!! lol:DNorthern Ireland club member No 382 :j0

Whilst "stopping" the fraudsters phone is great then it's a PAYG... and we all know how difficult it is to replace the sim and an old handset... Satisfying but fairly non impact for the fraudsters - bearing in mind that these are not yobs trying their luck but "professional" frausters...
would check with the card company that the theft has been reported to the police - it IS possible to track a mobile using the details from the network provider and I wonder if they do this? That way they'd have far moer chance of actually catching the frausters instead of just turning off the phones. And let's face it... the £30 charges are often a starter amount for a MUCH bigger scam...DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

The missus was done with this today - O2(UK)LTD PREPAY SLOUGH for £30. She's only ever used her HSBC Credit Card 7 times with large, national companies.
HSBC couldn't have been less interested - said they'd send a form out. Glad she told me about it because I made her call them back to ask about the ongoing security of her account - they then passed her to a different department to cancel. However, that was 9 hours after the statement arrived - can you imagine how much dough you could burn with a card in 9 hrs? Clowns.0
