Exactly! Thanks, if there at all, should be for the benefit of the giver to save wasting a post saying "Thank you". Your point implied that you were "pi**ed" that you missed out on a few as a recipient. Can I help?0

I for one are missing the thanks button. I used to enjoy thanking people for giving me advice and I used to enjoy giving advice and being thanked. On some posts I spend a lot of time finding the answers for people and one of the things I looked forward to was coming home and seeing that I had been thanked. It made me feel more worthwhile. Please tell me its coming back?2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

As if youd be arsed if you had more thanks then someone else.
I like getting thanked for my stupid comments and jokes, at least then I can see they are apreciated but I couldnt care less if someone gets more or less than me.
and in the spirit of lazyness its so much easier clicking a mouse than typing a message that amounts to the same thing.0 -
I miss it, its a quick way to see who found yr message helpful or nice, its also a good way of letting someone know u read their post without having to type, very good for those of us that are not always up to typeing.

This means that the following questions will not be tolerated:
WHY WAS THANK U BUTTON REMOVED
WHERE IS THANK U BUTTON
WHEN WILL THE THANK U BUTTON BE BACK
that has a familiar ring :rotfl:0 -
Quasar wrote:I prefer it like this. I have said elsewhere that the thanks button is more trouble than it's worth. No more whinging about people getting thanked for "non money saving" posts.0

If there is no thanks button, I'll only end up typing a thank you message anyway - therefore the threads will end up twice as long as it would have been and VERY monotinous to read through!
One of the basic rules is to have some manners - who cares about the thanks count? - I'm more concerned on thanking someone for the time-out they've taken to give my questions some thought and actually replying with info.
Keep the thanks button, but cut out the thanks count - that way everybody's happy.;)sassybird0 -
Have already expressed my views on the 'thanks button' - the main reason I don't like it is posters that 'demand' to be thanked and make people feel bad for not doing so...
I posted an offer on the grabbit thread and someone later mentioned a money off code that was on the codes and vouchers thread to get it even cheaper...
The poster of this code (who took it from another forum) had a tantrum in a number of posts as they didn't receive as many 'thanks' as I had for the offer I posted.. they then deleted the code and at one stage even went on to declare "if people cant say thanks for that then their just a load of greedy vultures"
A tad extreme I thought.. It wouldn't have bothered me if no one pressed 'thanks'.. I didn't post it for that.. Its not the end of the world if someone forgets to say 'thanks' for something really is it?
Finally.. the suggestion that a poster with a high 'thanks' tally respects more "weight" for their views is just plain ridiculous IMO
as sassybird mentions above...Keep the thanks button, but cut out the thanks count - that way everybody's happy.0
