I agree with you completly!! I only posted as some of the other posts on here about reporting people although i would agree with it!! It may be the case of they dont always know the full story! The area that i now live in is actually very well known to be full of busybodies who wouldnt think twice about reporting something they didnt think was right and to an extent i dont blame them however in some cases it isnt how it appears to be :)

This is a big problem. At the moment my son is receiving IB because he has M.E. and cannot work. There are times when he is well enough to go for a walk or go into town, although he has to compensate by resting afterwards, and I do worry that he may be reported because when he's out he looks quite well - he doesn't go out on the days he looks awful because he can't!

If it happens we will have to go through the process and hope he can show that he is genuine. He has said he would offer to work in the office with them because, before the end of a day, he would be so bad they would see it with their own eyes! He would give anything to be able to have a job and maybe even a social life.

It is different when people are blatant about fiddling the system and some are very open about what they're doing. I would have no hesitation in reporting someone like that.

Reading some of these comments makes me very cross! Why should i and many others work every hour gods send to keep a roof over my head so that a large portion of my hard earned cash will be given to somebody who isn't entitled to it! Its madness, i work hard, i'm entitled to no benefits (apart from a discount on my council tax for being the only adult occupier!) I personally do not think that benefits should be a way of life for people (unless your sick/disabled) I work with a single mum who has 2 kids under 5 and she works 4 days a week, i know she struggles but at least she can be proud of going out there and earning her money.

Id be rather concerned as she isnt registered therefore has no insurance , sorry if its been posted before . If something happens to that poor kid

    Sorry needed to add something

My CM works from home provides a safe warm and educating enviroment for my son and gets paid well for it , she pays her taxes has insurance and works hard..

If they are goint to look after kids they should take the responsiobility with it , plus she should either register and work from home pay taxes and take the cut in benefits or get off her lazy arris and work , so that people who work and pay their taxes , those taxes can go to people who seserve them such as

I can symapthise with your son as I had post viral ME for several years and yes it's horrible... I had a couple of weeks off then had to return to work because I couldn't afford to be off sick :( Meant driving to work early, having a nap in the car, working, having a nap then driving back home... it wasn't fun and it is utterly exhausting. The problem with ME is that it's hard to diagnose - however if his GP has put him down as having ME then he should be ok :)

I hope for your sons sake it never comes to that, a very good friend of mines mum has M.S and i have seen her deteriorate from being a very able woman to being completly wheelchair bound and having to rely on help from everyone for everything :(

    Its heartbreaking to watch :(

Depending on how long SIL2 leaves her child with SIL1, surely this £50 only really covers the expenses of having the extra child? I can't see that she is actually making much money out of it if she is feeding an extra child twice a day, drinks etc and any treats bought for her own will have to be doubled up. It's £10 a day which really isn't being paid for doing a job?

Do people think that if OP's SIL and others didn't do fiddle, then they'd be paying less tax

why don't you just call social services? they can make your SIL do a parenting assessment, which she will probably fail by the sound of it, and will be very closely watched by them and won't be able so do the on the side earning as SIL2 might feel stigma about leaving her child with someone pronounced unfit. At least you'll have done something for the kids!

I'm sorry but I can't seriously believe the route that this thread is going down.

While Benefit fraud is a crime watching daytime tv and/or using the computer while your child is there isn't. Neither is feeding a child tinned spaghetti. It's certainly not a matter for Social Services to deal with.

My SIL doesn't know what I give my son for breakfast and vice versa ......because neither of us are in each others house EVERY morning.

The child is getting a breakfast every day unlike so many kids. There is no mention that the SIL is neglecting her son by the OP. Why would you suggest bring in SS? Why would you want to put any mother and child through an investigation by a Social Worker for eating tinned spaghetti?

Maybe the SIL parenting skills could be improved.Maybe she is work shy. However do you think the other SIL would be happy to leave her child with her every day if she felt she wasn't looking after her properly?

My 12 year old was a really picky eater as a child. If it hadn't been for Mullerice,Toast and Cheese he'd have quite literally starved because he wouldn't eat anything else or drink milk. That was how he was with food and he was and is the healthiest and most active of all my children.

Maybe the little boy gets spaghetti in the mornings because he won't eat anything else? Maybe he just likes it.

The OP isn't there every day and neither are we. I'm not condoning benefit fraud. The OP is saying that fraud is being committed and that children are being neglected. If I was in her shoes i'd be more concerned with reporting the latter.

I don't agree with working while being on benefits and if what the OP is saying is true then yes we can condemn the SIL for committing fraud. But lets not talk about bringing a family (or maybe two) under (probably unnecessary)scrutiny by Social Services.

I can't imagine how SIL2 is any better off using this arrangement. Unless she's earning loads, and childcare in your area is a fortune. I've always worked (currently not ) and tax credit always gave me a nice extra chunk to go towards registered childcare?

I know this depends on lots of things, but most people are eligible, is she a single parent too?
