BMW... They are probably looking for the local drug dealer.:D

Its unreal how many times this is said actually, perhaps its a thread in its own right but its a bit unfair to class everyone who drives a BMW or Merc etc. as a drug dealer, tailgaiter, own the road etc.
There is a lot of comments like this directed to us, you should nip on the bmw forums to see what sort of abuse you get just for driving a car with a bmw badge on it, the Jealousy from some people is so uncalled for.

this is the latest post on the subject, well worth a read and you'll see they're all decent guys. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=289342

I've had to have three doors resprayed last month because of some jealous idiot keyed it.

Yeah. Leave BMW and Mercedes drivers alone. Everyone knows that the new pushy bad boys on the road are Audi drivers. :D

I drive a 1.0 corsa (what else can I drive at 17?!) and I often get mercs and BMWs coming up behind me when I'm overtaking a lorry or something. If they get very close I just flash my brakes at them, which I admit sometimes just winds them up. I once got into a right argument with a mercedes on the M180 that way.

Just ignore them, you don't want to be getting involved with them, they are just selfish, arrogant !!!!!!, with no consideration for others.

Are you SURE it is the badge they are jealous of?

The reason I don't particularly like BMW drivers is because they tend to be selfish and pull out on people a lot! Often forcing us to brake and slow down.

It happens when others are driving too so it isn't just my driving style.

And every single one of them drive a BMW, never another marque?

So no one in a ford, vw, audi, vauxhall, nissan, honda, etc. has ever done this to you?

if someone is going faster than me or wants to go faster than me then when there is a gap for me to pull into the left hand lane i will, well usually i do always pull back into the left as thats what your meant to do, not sit in the right hand lane just because your doing the speed limit.
its the ones who doddle along in overtaking lanes that cause the problems. the guy trying to pass isnt playing a game, usually he is in a rush so pull in let him past, problem gone. if you slow down your the one causing the problem.

Don't forget, because of the way speedos are set to read by law, if it reads 80 you may well only be doing 73-74. The person behind may well have his/her satnav giving a trrue GPS reading and they wish to move along at a proper motorway speed of a real 80mph - so they are bound to get frustrated.

Alos, if you're reading 70 you may actually only be doing 65 or so.

Yes agreed but I don't think we are just discussing motorways in this thread.

My slowing down examples for instance are not based on the way I drive on motorways. It would be foolish to do that on a motorway and might cause a pile up.

I have to admit that BMW / Merc. drivers do seem to be in the majority at this arrogant selfish habit, obviously not all of them, there are a few that do not.
