    Hi there

Usually it is the broker who are liable, so whoever done the application.
However, in regards of the pre-regulation, the FOS suggest the underwriter avenue.
You can write to the lender for the details of the underwriter, but I would firstly ask what the Financial ombudsman suggest first.
Contact the FOS on free tel number here......

    Good luck.

    Thanks Di, brill advice.

  • Still waiting to see if we have won against picture we were told at the beginning of this week that it had been with the calculations department for a week so its been there for nearly 2 weeks, they have had the claim for 7 weeks so hopefully we will know either way soon - a cheque before xmas would be great, im hoping its going the right way - will be ringing them on Monday

It should be any day now then.
And I'm sure it will be a success, if confirmed with the calculation dept, then they are calculating the amount to issue the cheque.;)

    Hiya

Usually, and from what I can recall, the calculations team is the final part of the claim.
Once Deloittes assess, they forward the details back to the FSCS, they check and if agreed, then it's moved forward to the calculations team.
I'm sure this is what happened with mine and many others on here.

However, it's been some time since mine's been resolved, so hopefully the one's who had recent cases resolved will respond soon as well.

All the best, but I'm sure it will be fine. x;)

  • Thanks Di for your help
It is in the calculations department within Deloittes so hopefully will be sent back to FSCS soon

In my opinion, this does look hopeful, once the FSCS authorises the calcs made by Deloittes, then it's all go from there.;)

  • Arghhhhhhhhhh Deloittes are driving me mad why can that not just give you a straight answer, and what a surprise you cant speak to anyone in the department where our claim currently is, its driving me insane all i want to know is a yes or no lol its in the department where calculations are made and its been there just over 2 weeks so we said well surely if its where calculations are made then its a successful claim "I'm sorry we cant disclose that information"
Grrrr cmon Deloittes just let me knowwwwwwwww haha
  • Hi

I took out loan with welcome 9 years ago, I have about 12mth left to pay. When I took the loan out I was advised I had to have ppi along with a few other ins policy's.

I wrote to welcome who advised I needed to speak to the broker that sold me the loan, I then contacted them and they could not trace me or my do called loan.

I have passed this issue to the FSO 13 mth ago, I called them last mth and they advised they are going after the insurance company Aviva. But they have advised the issue is that as my loan was sold to before (2005).

Has any one had any luck or am I just banging on a brick wall.
