Hi all
So forms are all in and I've been in regular contact with Deloitte, I rang them today and they said my claim against picture is going back to fscs for a final assessment, is this good?
I know Deloitte have received all the info they wanted from picture, they had all that back a week ago so what happens now? I'm so nervous that they could refuse it :-(
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks0 -
Hi
I was like you when I claimed against Picture Finance.
Contact the FSCS to confirm they have received the paperwork back from Deloitte. If they have they will be able to tell you if a decision has been made. I received my letter and cheque within a week of Deloitte sending back my paperwork.
Good luck0 -

Hi all, new to forum and looking for some assistance.
Earlier this year I submitted a claim to FSCS for a PPI policy I was miss sold by Land of Leather for some sofas I purchased. When I went the through the application with the sales person I was told that the PPI was required to complete the loan and the Sales person put crosses next to the box i had to sign and ticked the PPI box on my behalf. This was all taking place half an hour before the store was closing on a Sunday afternoon, not sure that the FSCS care about this bit but I did put this in my claim.
I received a decision this week that does not uphold my complaint and responds to every point of my complaint except the part about being told it was required and that I felt pressured into the sale.
On examining the small print on the back of the form it does say that PPI was optional but following the advice from the salesperson that PPI was a requirement i.e. false information, I personally felt no need to validate his statement and I wanted to purchase the furniture as it was the best deal available at that time.
Having spoken to Deloitte this morning I can see why the information provided may indicate that I willingly accepted PPI and it is now for me to prove the pressured nature of the sale.
I only have one appeal and the only evidence I could provide is a witness statement from my Cousin who genuinely was with me at the time of sale and sat next to me when I went through the paper work, I clearly remember him blowing his cheeks out at the amount of money a 24 year was paying for two sofas....
Anyway, what I would like to know is am I going down a dead end here? are the FSCS likely to take any notice of a witness statement of a family member who, from an outsiders point of view, may be seen to be simply providing a statement to help my case??
I am sure a few people reading this will say yeah ok mate, I am sure he was with you and did hear this but I pride myself on honesty and this is a genuine situation.
I would welcome any other advice on a means of evidence to support this important part of my claim.
Thanks for reading!0 -

All mis-selling complaints need to be valid and verifiable in order to succeed. I have no doubt that you were indeed pressured into taking this insurance. However, "hearsay" complaints like yours are almost guaranteed to fail unless other faults are found during the complaint investigation.Jwanless23 wrote: »I would welcome any other advice on a means of evidence to support this0 -
Wee bit of advice please. I took out a loan with Welcome Finance in 2001, arrnaged by Norton Finance. It was settled in 2006.
I claimed Welcome Finance for for it last year, but they said I needed to go via the insurer, as FSCS rules didn't kick in til after I took out the loan.
Question: should I be aiming my query at Norton instead?0 -

Hi there
Usually it is the broker who are liable, so whoever done the application.
However, in regards of the pre-regulation, the FOS suggest the underwriter avenue.
You can write to the lender for the details of the underwriter, but I would firstly ask what the Financial ombudsman suggest first.
Contact the FOS on free tel number here......
