  • And I thought it was just me being messed around!

Ive come across this forum by chance and I'm pleased I did, I'm having the same issues as the rest of you.

It is nearly 2 years since I made my original complaint to wilmslow/freedom finance and I've been through months of waiting on a similar path to the rest of you first with the fos and now with fscs.

Has anyone actually received a payout from the fscs on a wilmslow account? Im aware from speaking to them that there has been issues with accounts potentially being paid more than once but its becoming a bit of a farce now!
  • i've not received anything from fscs re wilmslow... wish theyd hurry up and sort it now... its dreadful!
  • Taking the last few comments, it would appear that the Wilmslow cases in general are being extremely poorly managed by the FSCS. The whole thing has been a complete shambles. Their complaint procedure for poor service is quite clear on their website so I hope anyone who hasn't already done so get busy writing complaint emails, and then prepare to write a follow up so that the complaint is then assessed by a senior manager. Surely they can't ignore the problem if everyone is complaining about exactly the same thing and en-mass.

    Happy new year!

My claim started in august with the FSCS and went right until the final decision after going through all thr various processes , im quite annoyed as to why it wasnt noticed the ppi was sold by ocean finance earlier on

Also , i rung Ocean Finance who told me that the ppi was refunded off my current loan with picture when it was refinanced so i cannot claim , i still think that if they originally sold me £7500 of ppi then i should be refunded if found to have mis sold even if it was supposedly refunded off this current refinanced loan ( which on looking as ppi of £14000 )

I havnt a clue what to do now

    Hi shaven

Sorry to hear about your problems. May I just ask didn't you original credit agreement state there was a broker fee? I only ask as mine states £0.00 next to broker fee so I take that as my ppi was definitely with picture and not a broker.

Emailed Deloitte again re Wilmslow cases and got the standard "cases are still on hold - no other information available". I have now forwarded their response back to the FSCS and complained again about how this is being dealt with and lack of info. Has anyelse heard anything different yet?

Total rubbish. Contact the fscs and they will be able to help you. Do not use these vultures as they are only after helping themselves to YOUR money. Good Luck

I originally posted the forms (on behalf of my partner) to the FSCS in relation to Picture at the end of November they wrote back requesting more info on one point which I completed and posted back to them on the 10th December. We returned from holiday on the 6th January to a cheque from the FSCS I was really surprised and amazed at how quick it was dealt with good luck to anyone still waiting.
  • Heard back from FSCS following a further complaint last week about lack of info as to what is happening. Today's response is that cases are still on hold whilst records are investigated and rectified in terms of claimants who received compensation from Wilmslow prior to them going into administration. No idea of timescale given so no further forward at all just been told that process will be completed when FSCS instruct Deloitte to finalise matters ...

Have you received a form from them asking whether you'd already received compo and whether case went to FOS/upheld etc? We received a form over Christmas and I chased last week to find out whether they'd received it. I was still waiting to hear back but today got a call from Deloittes to check the information and to say my case is now being processed! Was too shocked to ask any questions ie. how long is that going to take. Anyone else heard anything?
