  • I promised myself that I wouldn't do it but today I had to - I phoned Deloitte to ask for an update on my claim as I had heard nothing since 14th Nov. Now having done so I am still none the wiser as the person I spoke to said she had sent it "downstairs" and I would hear via letter in the next few days but she would not (or could not) tell me if it was a successful claim. She did wish me luck tho!!

The suspense is a killer - my PPI is for over £11,000 plus interest over £7,000 and it finishes in January as it will be 5 years. I have had 2 lots of NCB so I know I wont get much back but I am very curious as to what is happening.

    Oh well back to waiting.

  • hi guys i finally got round to registering! well my claim is against wilmslow/freedom finance/firstplus!! had a letter from deloittes on 11 nov saying the initial checks had been done and my claim would be processed shortly. i emailed yesterday to see where it was at and i was told that its with the data gatherers-they have requested info from your lender and policy provider. what does this mean? does it sound good or not? xx
  • I took out a loan with picture in 2006 for £25K and £6K added on for PPI. I put a claim in Sept/Oct 2011 and today received a cheque! I couldn't believe it as I never expected anything back.

    Hi all !!

I rung the FSCS today about my claim to see how it is progressing but all i got told is they aim to complete all claims wihtin 6 months and that mine was with awaiting review after receiving details from deloittes .......... Not very encouraging as to receiving any good news in the near future or maybe its just standard practice saying could take 6 months ???

I'd love to hear how you did this - my hubby took out a loan in 2006/7 with Picture and today we had a visit from a claims handler who wanted to 'help' us claim back the ppi (over £9k) for a fee of 25% and told us it was far too complicated for us to do ourselves as it was the loan broker needed to approach, not Picture themselves, and we wouldn't be able to find out ourselves etc etc.

If you have any tips of where to start I'd love to read them?

Hi greebo, that's totally rubbish! Phone fscs tomorrow and they will send out the application form of they think you have a claim. The form is simple and easy to fill out! Then just wait until they get back to you. Picture claims seem to be settled really quickly, don't even consider using one of these robbing companies, they are as bad as the banks! In a few years people will be reclaiming unfair charges from them me thinks! X

Total rubbish. Contact the fscs and they will be able to help you. Do not use these vultures as they are only after helping themselves to YOUR money. Good Luck

    Hi

Well its certainly not a rejection and in my opinion they would have done this by now if they think you didn't have a case, so basically the ball is rolling, good luck.;)

    Hi

I agree with the others, do not use a claims company, all you do is apply for a form to be sent to you (FSCS), complete and send "copies of any paperwork you have, lender/broker" and the FSCS/Deloittes will do the rest of it for you, although they may ask for further info down the line if they have to, but its less hassle this way and you get to keep all your ppi refund. Good luck.:)
