  • Wow! It sounds like there have been some amazing results over the weekend; well done everyone

Not to bring the mood down too much but are Deloittes normally so disorganised? The reason I ask is that I keep being told different things about my case. On the 28th Oct I spoke to someone (who I assume is the case worker) who told me she has passed it downstairs to the calculations team. Since then I've spoken to various other people. On 11th Nov I was told it was with 'data gathering' and on hold. On 18th Nov I was told it was still with the calculations team & they had only received 14 days previously. Today I'm told it's still with data gathering and on hold! So which is it??? I'm just so frustrated at getting nowhere yet again and haven't got a clue what to do next. :(

Chin up, if it's with the calculations team then they are working on it, it depends who the PPI is with and the complexity of the PPI agreement in place and the pro-activeness of the lender, Im sure that you wont be waiting to much longer for it. If you didnt have a case you would have been told earlier. Fingers crossed for you, you should get a result before Christmas! :)

I called on the Friday and they couldnt tell me anything over the phone - just that a letter had been sent out and lo and behold the cheque arrived on the Saturday.

After successfully claiming back my ppi from lloyds I thought I would have a rummage through my partners peperwork. He had a loan with picture in 2005 which only ran for a couple of years and was paid off in full I have requested the forms from the FSCS which arived at the weekend but look a little daunting to fill in!! I have the original agreement and a booklet which states who provides all the different aspects of the insurance is this all the evidence I need. I have no details of the early settlement figures do I need to contact picture for any additional info?

    Many thanks
  • Worse than I thought. Apparently my claim is on hold because they can't decide who the broker is! I would have thought all the paperwork from Freedom Finance (Wilmslow) saying 'further to our conversation' and 'we've now approved your loan' would have been a clue! Been told to ring back in the new year! Few tissues used up this afternoon....

Sorry to hear that sounds frustrating, keep going, it will be worth the wait.

If your agreement was with Freedom Finance then it should be straight forward - unless the PPI was underwritten by another finance company on behalf of Freedom Finance. Someone on here should be able to give you some feedback regarding this.

I would msg Di - she might be able to give you some advice on what to do next.

Another frustrating day of phone calls. Spoke to a helpful guy at the FSCS who said the only query he could think of is that although Freedom Finance (Wilmslow) aren't trading they might still have money somewhere that could be claimed against instead of their compensation fund. Didn't really make sense to me. I've also checked the Companies House number on the paperwork I have for Freedom and they are definitely now registered as Wilmslow so there's no confusion as to what company sold me the ppi in the first place.

Anyway, then spoke to a guy at Deloittes who said some Wilmslow cases are on hold 'awaiting further guidance' but he didn't know what that was. He's now going to follow up with the second person who investigated the case. Apparently it seems the woman I spoke to who said she'd done her investigations and passed my case to calculations was talking rubbish cos according to the guy today it goes to a second person before calculations. Just wish someone would give me a straight answer because I really don't know what to believe.
