  • Hi Mutron and Lilac Pixie, things are moving along nicely now. If you explain the situation Lilac Pixie they are very helpful. The last lady we had with Deloittes was very knowledgable and helped with all the questions I asked. Good luck!:)

Thank you everyone. I am just a bit eekkk about it all, we are a few hundred short for deposit because of tight completion date and my dad as kindly offered to front up the difference but the idea of borrowing from him isn't sitting well in my head either.

Waiting on Deloitte calling me back, they say if we sell this and then move they will not send anything out to our new address until they either get a solicitors letter advising we have bought new place or a utility bill addressed to me at new address which could take god knows how long so arrrgggghhhhh.

Well they called back, they have everything they need from me they think, Now they need to gather evidence which depends on how quick companies comply then goes to claims handlers then back to FSCS so bleurgh. He says how long is a piece of string but 7 weeks just won't happen.

Just a thought but could you not arrange with Royal Mail to redirect your post for a couple of months, then you dont have to worry about going through the hassle of changing address with Deloittes or waiting for a bill.

    I hope so Di.

Bhoy - yeah we will have a 6 month redirection of our mail but I wonder how effective it will actually be. I also think it doesn't apply to some things like special delivery and recorded delivery letters so ifthey send us anything like that them we won't get it.

Just phoned Deloittes (again). The majority of the information has now been received back ,from Picture and they are just waiting on an additional piece of evidence, then the claim should be handed over to the claims department for calculations. Apparently it should not take long now (but then I've been hearing that for the last 4 weeks). Anyway....things are still moving in the right direction and at least they are talking about calculations which is a relief. Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear about their claims.
YOUR = belonging to you (your coat); YOU'RE = you are (I hope you're ok)

really....it's not hard to understand :T

  • Hi, I've been reading this post for a while, but it is the first time that I have posted. I have a query, I am currently claiming with FSCS for ppi arranged by Regency Mortgage Services and The Personal Loan Express. Delloitte are handling them. Delloite have told me that they can't do anything about the first ppi sold in 2003, but that the can with the second in 2005(both Regency)Hence, doubly insured. My question is this- when the FSA took over in 2004 looking after mortgages and insurances they stated that they would cover customers whose companies had been members of the MCCB who would be covered by the MCB which the FSA was taking over. Surely this means that the FSCS can't just dismiss my claim from 2003? If that was the case, then it would mean that every time the Gov saw fit to rename or change a regulator that everybody who was covered, suddenly becomes uncovered?

    Hi and welcome.

Baffling, what i would do then is ring the financial ombudsman service (FOS) as a general query and explain to them about this, see what they have to say.
Normally if the business were covered by the FSA at the time you taken out the product they should be able to deal with it.

Please let us know what they say, thank you.;)
