still no real update here. Saturday morning I received my marriage cert back along with a letter signing to confirm that at time of taking out policy I was known as Lilac Elf and since marriage in 2007 I have been know as Lilac Pixie. Apparently I had to sign and return within 10 working days and I had it back in the post box within an hour but I doubt they will receive it until tomorrow. Think I will call fr an update on say thursday.

Nearly there! Just spoke to FSCS who said they hadn't received it so they gave me Deloittes number who then told me that it was handed back on Friday so probably just hasn't been receipted.

    Cheque is in the post.

    :j

It's a bit less than I anticipated though but will post figures once I see their reasoning behind it.

Right helpful people I think we may have a small problem. eeekkkkk. I have bought a house, all going well we move in 7 weeks. chances of FSCS getting bums in gear and sending cheque before then??

PPI amount was a fraction under 2k and front loaded summer 2005, company already been declared in default, loan was for 4 years so ran full term and completed. I don't want our moving to complicate things in respect of sending cheque but at same time obviously we need to actually get hands on the cheque. I don't want to give any reason to delay things plus of course with moving a hefty cheque is NICE!!!

What do you think I should do? tell them literally a week before the move that we are moving the next week and hope it is all done before then?

I'm moving at the end of November and had hoped to put pressure on them to come back with a response but they seem to just let things run their course. As soon as it's back with the FSCS they will issue the check almost immediately.

    Hi LilacPixie
    You are very busy.
I would make them aware to be honest, tell them the money would also be a great help for your move with the expenses, and ask them how long do they think it would take.
They may know more now if all the procedures have been completed and may possibly give you a date.
    Do tell them.

Good luck in your new home honey. And the best of luck. X;)
