Should be able to sue lorry/bus/car drivers to - I walk or cycle, why should my lungs be polluted with all the poisons that come out of transport?

Because they PAY for the roads, that you cycle on.

Probably because transport, unlike smoking, serves a purpose.
Do you mean like Cigarettes do for smokers? you could always CHOOSE to ride a bike instead, or learn to use those legs as folk did prior to the invention of the pollution guzzling combustion engine. I hear its good exercise AND serves a purpose.

To be fair, if you work in another city, then even cycling that far would be a bit ridiculous.

Agreed, but as it is legal, its LEGALLY entitled to be as addictive as a motor vehicle. Smokers are banned from public transport, so City to City is not an issue, id imagine country folk objecting to building a motorway through their village, on the same grounds.

Smokers, smoke! whether its addiction, habit or because they are worked up, they smoke because like cars, it serves them a purpose, I dont see what purpose alcohol serves, either indoors or outdoors, should we ban that on the same grounds?

No they're not and neither are clay pigeon shooters, arsonists or drug addicts. All these people are welcomed on public transport as long as they don't use it to practise their 'hobbies'.

Prior to the combustion engine there was the steam engine. Prior to that people rode horses. Just think what it would be like if instead of cars, we all rode horses. That would be a smell worth complaining about. :)

Do none of you people care about your children, parents, siblings or friends. My Mum died of lung cancer ad I miss her everyday and if she hadn't smoked I would still have her with me. So don't talk about your right to do anything! Why do you have the right to take a parent from a child? I am angry about smoking and the addiction. I feel she was murdered and seeing people smoke now - for me- makes me feel like they are dancing on her grave. If you think your family will be less upset because you died doing something you chose to do then you are dillusional.Lung cancer is the worst way to die and seeing it is worse than anything for the family ahving to look after them. If you really want to kill yourselves you would be better off walking infront of a car and saving your family the pain.
