  • Demand compensation from the people smoking outdoors!!!

Our next door neighbour is a heavy smoker he keeps us awake alot of the time with his smokers cough as his bedroom backs onto ours and we have thin walls, at times it is so loud happens every night i have to get up as it continues for ages, plus he also smokes outside due to having children, and his wife doesnt smoke however his patio area and our patio area are next to each other having a 6 ft fence between but when i want to open my french doors i have a massive whiff of his cigarette smoke weekends i can rarely have my doors open due to his smoke coming in my house, the dog doesnt appreciate it either who sleeps by the doors, why on earth should i have to put up with this why cant smokers have a garden shed where they can smoke. As I speak i got up early so i could have my doors open before he subjected me to his vile stench and now have to close them as he is out smoking now and i am 50 feet from the doors on the computer and the smell is wafting in. What are we supposed to do keep all our windows and door shut - I dont have the problem of bonfire smoke where i live as no one ever lights one.

Smoking Kills, but so does Alcohol, Fatty foods, even crossing the road. Cancer is not ONLY linked to smoking, regardless of which smokers choose to smoke at their own risk (NOT ANYONE ELSE'S).

Smoking in open areas, is as acceptable as driving in open spaces. Both are as obnoxious. The day smokers are forced to smoke in only their own garden, will be the day drivers can run their engine only in their garage.

    Seems this woman was immune.

Smoking was never regarded as such a major issue until it was forced outside, now it is an outdoor only activity, people complain the smell wafts to them (much the same as Rubbish tips, Factories, traffic, incinerators, etc).

I would love to open a pub called "The Smokers Inn" Exclusively for smokers, its indoors, its run by smokers, frequented by smokers and any NON smokers, are free to enter so long as they know its a smokers place. That way, the smoke WOULD be limited to within the environment of the premises, butt ends and smokers would not have to be strewn or gathered over the entrance, and to me would seem fair to those who smoke NOT to be criminalised for choosing to partake in what the government allows them to partake in.

However, I can still see the Anti-Smoke brigade, complaining that its not fair on them, should they choose to wander into such a building or that its somehow promoting smoking as a good sport.

It was decided indoor smoking was banned to outdoors, where it can mingle with the outdoor pollution of City Life get used to the idea, or re-restrict it back indoors.

If smoking ends your life early then why did a friend of my family smoke at least 40 a day from the age of 13 until the day she died at 104?

When your times up then your times up!!!!

I can't believe anybody in this country can be this ignorant. I hope you don't have kids.

I do and they are healthy and happy in their late thirties. Perhaps you should look at a wide spectrum of the evidence instead of only those bits you agree with.

I'd be fine with that. Smoking pubs and non-smoking pubs would do me fine. If all pubs became smoking pubs, I just wouldn't go, not that I do anyway. Why pay £6 for a bottle of Bulmers when you can get 12 for £10? As a bonus, at home I get to watch what I want to/listen to what I want rather than everything being constantly tuned to football/current chart tripe.

Where the heck are you drinking where it's £6 for a bottle of cider??

You can't beat a nice quiet country pub, by the lake, in the Summer, especially out in the beer garden, As any smoker can tell you ;). All I ask from a smoker, is to discard their butts respectively.

Why are ex smokers so self-righteous on this subject ? because its only when you stop that you realise the truth

    1) Its killing you
    2) Its killing others
    3) Its expensive
    4) Its anti social
    6) MOST IMPORTANT it's selfish your either ending your life early, affecting your loved ones, receiving help draining resources & NHS for self inflicted illness or causing others to share your pleasure

It aint rocket science i'm ashamed it took me 24 years to realise it
I hope & pray it never comes back to bite me,cancer is one hell of a price to pay for ignorance

I choose not to drive, but I have to inhale the fumes from all the people with cars. There are a lot of things that other people do that affect other people, but its their choice. Smokers are now banned from smoking inside public areas so the effects of passive smoking are greatly reduced.

If it took you 24 years to realise that smoking isn't good for you then.... :)
