Met at a picnic of mutual friends. Started dating the following day. Engaged 14 days later. Bought and moved into our first house 3 months later. Married a year after we met. First son born 10 months later.
We were both 23 when we met and got engaged. 24 when we married. One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Wow how many whirlwind romances, that's cool.
5 years for me and my OH, I was definitely telling him to get a wriggle on into the 4th year. That was just a few months ago - hopefully getting married next summer.:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
We met at the beginning of April '97, I moved in with him 3 weeks later and we got married at the beginning of October '97, a month before my 23rd birthday. so pleased to see this thread, as my mind has been spinning all week. to all those who got engaged quickly, how was the news accepted by family/friends, and how did you deal with negative comments?
we met a year ago, and were talking marriage soon after. OH proposed every day for weeks, then said he'd leave it to me to propose when i was ready. well now i am, and I'm pretrified - of the response from others, and the fear of failing at marriage again, even though i know i won't go into a marriage if i think for a second it wouldn't work. we are both in our 40s, and divorcees.
i'm not impulsive, and met him when i least wanted a relationship. he fell in love at first sight and pursued me, and i realised on our first date that i had met the man i was going to marry - i actually feel sicky at saying those words lol, because they sound so cheesy, and i am so level-headed and 'sensible'.
dare I do it? i feel like a teenager too afraid to let my feelings out!!!0
