You could park over the road in Nertherfield by the local shops and just walk over to the hospital. At least then you do not have to pay for parking. Not more than a 5 minute walk.

Just don't expect your car to still be there when you get back!!
or to still have wheels or the aerial or any windows...
If you drive around to the back of the hospital - all the way around where the cook/chill food bit is there are some staff carparks there and the cardiology parking is also there too - try ther if you are visiting after 6.30pm coz the cardiology unit is shut then!

On a separate note - anyone visiting Stoke Mandeville Hospital should park for FREE in the Guttman Sports and Leisure Centre Car Park. It's off Guttman road in Aylesbury. drive along Mandeville road (B4443) from Aylesbury and turn left into Harvery Road at the mini roundabout with the chippy to your left BEFORE YOU GET TO THE HOSPITAL, then follow the road along thru the housing estate then turn left into Guttman Road and drive along this short bit of road next to the railway. then follow the road as it turns sharp right in front of the disabled athletes swimming pool & sports centre (theres also the paralympic village there too) and park against the back fence the furthest away from the centre there's a walk way through to the hospital from there and you come into the hospital near the canteen.
    Hope this helps...

Hello, sorry to hijack your thread - but I'm after some advice regarding MK.

I'm off to see Take That next Sunday in MK - has anyone else been? I've never been to MK before so don't know where to park or anything like that, advice would be welcome :) More importantly, has anyone been to the concert? It says doors open at 3pm but no idea of when the concert starts, or more importantly, finishes.

    Thanks in advance :)

Saturday is the first of two dates Take That are playing at The Bowl so I would guess that no-one knows for sure what time they'll be coming on. Usually gigs finish there at 10.30-11.00 so if Take That are on for 2 and a half hours guess at them coming on at 8-ish.

I live right across the road from the bowl so parking isn't a problem for me (or my friends who turn up from all over the country to park on my driveway). There is no parking on the estates around the bowl although there are massive car parks around the bowl and by Furzton Lake (two minutes walk away). If I was coming to MK for a gig I would be tempted to either come by train and use the free bus shuttle service from outside the station to the bowl, or even consider parking at the train station and again using this service (as it happens it's only 10-15 minutes walk from the station to the bowl anyway) to avoid the inevitabley horrendous queues getting out of the car parks.

Whatever you do, inless you're an absolute die-hard and NEED to be right at the front, DON'T go into the bowl too early. You'll get completely ripped off. At the Bon Jovi concert a couple of weeks ago they were charging £6 for a hamburger with a slice of cheese. About the best value for money there is the beer at £3 per "pint". That's how bad it is.

    Enjoy the concert!!

I was at the Bon Jovi concerts (yes both days) and was amazed at what people were allowed to take in with them, I was in the front gold circle and there was picnic blankets, all types of baggage and luggage. I took in my own bag full of food and drinks (which I was prepared to dump if they didn't let me take it in), and when the water ran out the stewards refilled the bottles free of charge on the front barrier!

    Its was a great weekend!

    Enjoy the concert!

Does anyone pay for the NTL packages in MK? I know every house gets the standard channels (plus a few), but does anyone else pay for extra channels?

What do you pay and what do you get? Do you have to take broadband and telephone? Or can you just get the TV packages on their own?

    TIA
