... onto Mark 3 we go! :T

I'm very fussy about not having too many pages - it takes an age to search through to topics

What's the cheapest rate you've found to hire a standard large Transit-sized van?

Is it possible to get under £40 for a day's hire? I want to order a sofa from Ikea but am loathe to pay their delivery charge (which is £40), and sadly I don't know anyone with a van.

Does anyone out there have a van that they'd be willing to drive for me so I can pick my sofa up? Fuel + a thank you payment would be made, of course ;-)

    Hi everyone,

Just FYI - The sunday bootsale at 'the bowl' is not on this sunday, so don't get up early, stay in bed!!

I read in the paper last week that they have a saturday bootsale in tattenhoe, can't remember details but I might plod along this week and see if its any good, anyone been to that one?

Another FYI is that you can now buy the unlimited cards at cineworld in milton keynes, you don't have to travel to northampton or bedford to sign up anymore which makes it alot easier for those who haven't signed up yet. As a reminder it costs £10.99 per month and you can go to see any film any time as many times as you like for that one monthly fee. To make it worthwhile you have to want to go to the cinema at least 1.5 times per month otherwise you will pay too much. Me and hubbie love it, we see loads of films and sometimes we will buy a ticket early, so no queueing forever, go out for dinner and then sometimes we change our minds about the film and it doesn't matter coz we didn't pay.

Just went past the bowl and the reason the boot sale is not on is because there is a Garden Show on this weekend.

    Hi JackieO,

Well you're in for a treat then... (not). I personally have my reservations about the Bowl as a venue, it's just a sunken field..

Anyway, we are dead easy to get to - just North of London - Jcn 14 of the M1 and the Bowl will be signposted. As you've never been before we need to warn you of the roundabouts and the grid system!! Basically we work on a horizontal and vertical layout of roads, and where each one intersects we have a roundabout. For more info on our transport see http://www.mkweb.co.uk/travel/home.asp.
The Bowl is situated around the V4 Watling Street and H8 Standing Way (also known as the A421 - multimap that!), and H7 Chaffron Way - the main entrances are on the V4 and H7.

Parking is almost impossible unless you get to MK very, very early. It may be possible to park somewhere near the train station or in one of the business areas near Argos, unless MK Dons are at home and then you have very little chance. If you do manage to park around that area, it's about a 30min walk to the Bowl from there. The Bowl does have official parking but they fill up very very quickly. If you come by train, I'm pretty sure that there's a free shuttle service from the station (or there used to be)... we are 37mins from London Euston by the quickest Virgin Trains.

Someone else on the thread may be able to offer more parking solutions (if anyone lives in Furzton - rent your space out for the day!), but I've only ever parked out and walked in the few times I've been!

I'm going to the Bon Jovi/Nickelback Concert on the 10th June. I can walk from where am and I have become a hotel for the night as I have two long distance mates coming to stay!! It's Silverstone F1 that weekend too, so we are going to be packed out!!

Looking to do up my bathroom and shower room and looking for a plumber who will do a really good job.

Also looking to redecorate other rooms in the house.

Any recommendations will be gratefully received.

    Thank you
