    Wi-Fi Mesh

A Wi-Fi mesh is being installed in Milton Keynes:

“Milton Keynes will have largest continuous area of free wireless broadband connectivity in the UK,”

“The 21st Century wireless Milton Keynes project has been in planning for 18 months and will now network Central Milton Keynes absolutely free! This is the largest continuous area to have free Wi-Fi access in the UK to date,” said Grant Seeley, director of investment at Milton Keynes Partnership."

People of Milton Keynes - I urgently need your help!

I'm after a Mobile hairdresser who's more than likely to be available one evening next week... I'm desperate for a haircut and my regular scissoress has let me down. I'm going to a graduation next week and need to be smart 'n sorted for the photos.

Can anyone recommend one or PM me their number?

Cheers Meeps, I've called her today and typically she's very busy next week, but has promised to squeeze me and my mobettes in for cuts on Thursday. Shall report back as to the quality and friendliness etc :)

My rather overdue report on the store.

Wow - it's huge! Much bigger than I was expecting, I must admit. If noodles are your thing, there's just about every type available in China/Japan/Thailand here...

It's quite dark and typically just a warehouse with some freezers and shelving units within holding masses of stock. I couldn't count the amounts of different sauces and noodles they had there.

To give an example, there were packets of instant noodles, dried noodles (like Sharwoods-style ones but Chinese named ones) - egg and rice. There was three rows of freezer foods with some ready-made Chinese dishes in, and also ready-to-fry spring rolls, amongst other things.

Also a wide variety of vegetables in a chiller at the back, as well as cold deli-style items.

Then, as if that wasn't enough - there's shelves of cooking equipment and utensils, as well as crockery.

Basically, if you want to cook Chinese and want real ingredients, this is the place to come.

Prices? Well I paid £1.50 for half a litre of rice wine vinegar, £1.50 for a 300ml bottle of oyster sauce and about £1 for a bottle of sesame oil. Quite reasonable, I thought... considering I can never find these things in Tesco.

I didn't do it justice, and I think you'd need a lot of time to try and find what you want - I was looking for Chinese Curry powder but couldn't find any, and didn't see any staff to ask either :( However I did find some 5-spice as well which is something I always need but never have!

Dead easy to find: in Bradwell Abbey - if you approach it on the H3 - it's the road opposite KFC (Alston Drive) - drive all the way to the bottom, and it's on the right-hand side (easily noticed by the large yellow and red sign).

They have a website too, but it is very basic (just pictures and maps really)

    I'll definitely go back :)

A very good find, now I don't have to drive all the way to London from Northampton when I want some Chinese stuff (which is often me being Chinese). Thanks alot!

I shop here a lot so would echo what Indiegirl has said. I'd particularly recommend the bags of frozen king prawns - loads for about £10 - and the Thai prawn crackers you deep fry yourself. I tend to avoid the frozen tripe though....!

    Best wishes

    Hiya

I am thinking about booking tickets for a play at the MK Theatre - is there any way of saving a few £s? Eg deals or vouchers anywhere?

    Thanks in advance.
