It is about 6 daya behind and I cannot find how many minutes I have left. So I suggest people dont sign o2 contract at carphone , e2save and osps beacuse of CPW unreliable minutes calculation system.

I was just about to post the same thread.

I brought o2 tariff from CPW. I don't understand the information on their online billing. Its been the same information for the past 3 days. Ridiculous.

I just think the way they have designed it all, is poor.

Is there an option to opt out of CPW online billing and use O2's one (even if you brought your phone from CPW)?

Unfortunately if you purchase an O2 contract from any of those retailers then your service provider will be Carphone Warehouse Services (CPWS). They are responsible for your billing and your customer service.

I agree CPWS's billing is pretty poor. The online interface was awful last time I looked at it and when I realised that online billing cancels paper bills I asked to have the service removed.

You will not be able to get your bill directly from O2 because O2 are not acting as your service provider, only your network provider. You will have to deal with CPWS until the end of your contract.

As a result I do not recommend getting O2 contracts from these retailers.

    I just spoke to CPW.

They have told me it takes approx. 2 days to update the information as they have to acquire it from 02 first before the information comes to them.

    That is ridiculous and pathetic!!!!!!!

No other online billing is that slow.

    2 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can easily go over you inclusive minutes without knowing.

Totally agree with you gtz101 . My contract finish at November this year I will defintely take a pac number from CPW and move to be a direct o2 Customer.

    Awful CPW/O2

    A wise move.

If you purchase direct from O2 this should not be a problem, but if you new contract is purchased through a third party retailer it is unlikely they will port your number from O2 CPWS to O2.

You will have to port out to a PAYG on another network and then back to O2.

what I dont understand is why they do the 1st bill on a pro rata basis and then you get billed for 1 month in advance and a half????

meaning you could only get 100 minutes or so on a pro rata basis and you will get charged for any calls outside that period?

This is not unique to O2 CPWS.

All service providers bill line rental a month in advance. The first bill will be line rental for a part month plus the full price for the following month. The duration of the part month depends on the service provider and the date you were connected in relation to their billing cycle.

The cost of the part month is calculated pro-rata and as a result your monthly allowance for that period will also be pro-rata.

Many people are caught out by this. After connection they make calls thinking they are well within their allowance not realising that for the first month the allowance will be considerably less. This is why I always recommend calling customer services immediately after being connected to establish:

    a) date of bill
    b) date monthly allowance runs until
    c) amount of allowance allocated for the part month

    Hope this is useful.

This, together with the fact that the online billing interface is appalling, is the reason I cancelled online billing and returned to paper billing.

However, the e2save website does indicate you are allowed to send in print outs of your online bills.
If you are registered for online billing we will be happy to accept a copy of your bill from your networks website. The bill should display your:
    Name
    Current address
    Mobile number
