Yes - he looked interesting!
I've always thought there should be two job centres in each town. One for the nice people who are really looking for work or have genuine reasons for claiming benefits............and one for the rest!
I'm not sure about her! With it being a pilot scheme the ladies involved obviously wanted to be there and wanted to find work. But if its rolled out in real life, and becomes compulsory, imagine her speaking like that to the proper lazy ones with no intention of working!
i thought that too but then i suppose its there way of getting people working if you dont wanna be classed the same as them ...
it reminded of when i was on jsa they send me on this 2 week course which was part of new deal i went everyday doing my cv sending them out spending all day on the internet looking through papers ... whereas there was the rest who turned around and said im only here coz they made me otherwise id be in bed ..... and to top it off ....... they goes im happy to be on benefits free money for doing nothing ... i wanted to slap them and slap them hard xStill searching .....:)

Well, that didn't work. We had the worst night since she's been in her own room. She finally dropped off about 10:45, and then was pretty much awake from 1am until 7am . The longest bit of sleep we had during that time was 40mins and that was 5am to 5:40. I managed to get her off to sleep from about 7:30am til 8:45 but only by having her on the bed next to me. Feel sorry for poor hubby who had to get up at 6:30 with practically no sleep. I've told him that we're not going out again with her at night for at least five years as it disrupts her too much...xxxx

I've made an appointment to see GP on Tuesday. I asked the receptionist if I could see the most pro-breastfeeding Doctor, so hopefully she'll help. Past few days the Nipple Vasospasm I have has been getting worse. I spoke to a La Leche League lady, who said to ask for a spray on prescription, or an ointment or tablet if the spray isn't suitable. I've never heard of it, and I don't think it is that common a problem, so chances are GP won't either. Any advice for how to ask for it?Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0

Feely, sounds like a pain! I would suggest getting the brand/chemical name of any of those things, and just telling the doctor that a breastfeeding counsellor recommended you ask for xxxx?0

I'd just say that you have spoken to the BF councillor and they have recommended you discuss these options with your GP. Mine are usually pretty good and will look up what it is and then discuss it with me
Like when I asked if we could have Infacol on prescription - she had to look up what the active ingredient would be and order it that way - and the chemist then had to work out what it was from the active ingredient until I pointed out it was just infacol

Hopefully she'll be obliging! They were fine about the domperidone, but that seems a bit more common. I've got to ask for Nitroglycerin Spray or Nifepedine. Fingers crossed, I've got a very sore nipple and it would be great to get it sorted!Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0

MOTM, If you were a woman in the same position I don't think anyone would think that recieving money from the absent parent necessitated an unsuitable absent parent having contact. I feel it should be the same in your case. A CS payment is not a ticket to 'see' a child. You have the same rights to both financial support, and to your girls being kept safe from unhealthy influences. Else it's sexist for us to believe that about women in your situation.
Just my thoughts
I appreciate your thoughts. I think I don't want to upset the routine we are in now. They may not get a ticket to access, but knowing the pain in the backsides they both are, they may try and cause trouble for the girls and my girls would never forgive me and the bond we have is too important to risk. I did care about these women once, I can't think why nowHi everyone
I have stopped lurking to ask some advice.
I'll go back to lurking now

Please stayYes, it works exactly the same whether the absent parent is the Mum or the Dad. You just don't hear about as many absent Mums (although there is more than you'd imagine).
I've not met anyone in my situation, but i'm sure there are others. As someone said last night (Sami?) it's hard to understand why any parent would leave their child out of their own free will. Their are exceptional circumstances, but some parents leave as they can't put the child first, which is always the priority. Something else is more important - another woman, drugs, drink, whatever. I wish people would just accept responsibility when they become parentsSaying that, we are better off now, but it takes time to realise that.
