    Hi everyone

I have stopped lurking to ask some advice.

My baby is 7 months now and for the past week has been extremley grumpy with teething. Does the grumpiness normally last this long (a week) I cant remember from my 1st as it was that long ago. When he cut his 1st 2 teeth he didnt complain at all but now he wont stop crying and I have tried everything. I just want my happy baby back :(

I'll go back to lurking now

    Bekki

Although i want to be positive about this, it took Elliot 4 weeks to cut his last tooth (his 8th). So 4 whole weeks of him being grumpy, clingy and over tired from not sleeping properly! :o The other 7 didn't take so long though, few days max. The he was happy again once they were through.

    keely.

ps-He slept 13 hours last night, after little napping yesterday :o

oh we think he's cutting bigger teeth now (molars) what fun!!

Yes I think this is completely normal - in my experience anyway, have you tried anbesol? I swear by it and so do a few other mummies here.

We got some anbesol last night but he screamed even more when i put it on (dont know if its beacause you have to touch his gums) . The boots own powders arent so bad.
  • Weezl - you're scaring me with your story of your night last night, as my little angel has gone back to sleeping through, no doubt she'll decide to do her night wakings again next week as we're on hols.

Mel - good news on your decision about the course, I hope it all goes well - what are you going to be doing?

Bekki - I hope you get some good advice, I'll be keeping an eye out as I'm sure that's just around the corner for us too!

But was he happier afterwards...I know my little'un does protest while I am putting it on if his gums are very sore, but afterwards he is MUCH better so I think it is worth a few seconds of misery:)

We've never used anbesol before-what is it? We just use teething gel and sometimes powders which seem to do the trick. In severe cases baby paracetamol or ibruprofen.

    keely.

ps-can't actually apply anything to his gums as he just bites you HARD! so i have to put the gel on his dummy in those cases.

    Morning all :)

well, after sleeping through from 8 1/2 weeks (don't shoot me!) we were up at 10, 11, 1.30, 3 5.30 and up for good at 6.10.

Surely this is something to do with imminent weaning?!

    Please?!

    Could be teething?
