Aw, MotM, you sounds like a really nice guy, and your girls must be so proud to have you as a dadI always think you don't need two parents if you have 1 great one, both my parents were pretty abysmal, so I strive to be the opposite.
Nothing wrong with wanting to save people. I think it's only human nature.
Nothing to worry about. It gets better with age and practice. Just keep correcting her and praising her when she gets it right and she'll be okay.
Well, I don't know about really nice, although I tryVery protective of my girls and if anyone says anything bad about them  You should see my 14yo on/off boyfriend. He's really scared of me :rotfl: I feel bad as I haven't done anything to warrant him being scared but she's told him i'm really protective and he took it the wrong way :rotfl:
I had bad parents too, so I do everything they didn't and more. We are all really close.
My issue is another relationship. I do get lonely and needy for an adult relationship, but with the girls it's unlikely to happen and even if it did, once you have been badly burnt more than once, it is never easy as it was before to get close to someone.
Oh well, it sounds like I am complaining, when i'm not really as i'm lucky with what I have and if it's all I ever have, then i've done alright!0 -

Hello Carla
So many people on here that I still haven't come to terms with who everyone is. It's helpful having the details in signatures.
1 boy and 1 girl in the past couple of years eh? Any plans for any more in the future?0 -

NO!!!! lol.
Christopher is only two weeks old yesterday!!
if you asked my OH though it would be a completely different answer. lol. My reasoning is, we have one of each - there is no more options!! altho, syaing that in a few years time ill prob want another lil baby.
7 girls you have, woaw!!! I am eldest of 3, and i remember the catfights we used to have! hehe. altho we are best of friends now!!! :j
Button -- she is still only 3!! still learning. is she at nursery yet, or going at termtime? You will prob find that her lanaguage development improves dramatically there!!! My nephews lanaguage was atrocious before nursery and now he is brilliant at his pronounciation!!Carla-Farla!!

Oh yeah, I misread it as 2008
I feel weird as not only bar one or two in this thread female, but most have babies and I left that era quite a while ago, so most of the talk is about things I have nothing to do with anymore
You may get maternal again, but if you are happy as you are......I never wanted children and look what happened
My girls argue but they are all good friends. They know I hate it when they argue and they look after me as much as I look after them.
Maybe you could tell my eldest the responsibilities of being the more senior. One day she likes looking after them, the next it's 'not fair' :rotfl:0 -
Carla - I know she is 3, but the health visitor (who is a b****) mentioned her speech, and a "friend" once asked me if she had a speech impediment.....She doesn't! But it's made me highly concious of what she sounds likes to others, I understand her perfectly as do most others.......that girl is a bit of weirdo though, she let her cat get pregnant so it could "experience" being a mother, yes I'm sure the cat loved the barbed penis it got! She also told me I was too fat to wear a boob tube, I'm a size 14, she is about a 24, and wears old grandma style clothes (think completely sequinned clothes with gold trimming)........sod her
Ahhh the dreaded boyfriends, Motm......my mum actually thought I was a lesbian because I showed no interest in boys at all, until I was about 17....then I got pregnant. I showed her!! Hehe....
Oh and she starts nursery on the 1st of September, I'm not looking forward to the walk there and back twice a day, will only get about an hour to sit down before I have to head out again, considering a bike with a seat at the back for her, and sod the law, I'm cycling on the pavements!0 -

Well, if the health visitor isn't very nice...they aren't always right and it was probably just an opinion. Does this friend have children?
I actually haven't minded the girls who have had 'boyfriends' choices so far. No no hopers yet. I don't think too many boys would mess them about once they'd met me, not that I act scary, but i'm pretty straightforward and apparently I look and walk like a police officer or someone official :rotfl:
Well, you showed your Mother there then :rotfl: I can imagine the shock she got :rotfl:0 -
I'm a bit of an interloper on this forum (my boys are 24 and 29!) however I am about to become a grandparent and want to buy a baby buggy as a present. The parents-to-be are very busy working etc. and are happy for me to choose but - which one??? It's a long time since I bought one and the choice now is overwhelming... They live in a first floor flat (no lift) so obviously will have to carry baby and all up and down stairs. As this is our first grandchild we hope that the buggy will be also be useful for further grandchildren so we are happy to spend a bit more for good quality. Any tips or advice would be so much appreciated. Many thanks for reading.0

 Amontylado. Welcome, can't offer any advice on buggies though i'm afraid. You could always try getting a twin buggy for the 24 and 29 year old. Not sure it would go down well with their partners/friends, but...
Hope you get the advice you need. This thread moves fast though, so watch closely!
Anyway, bedtime. I am staying up to silly hours because of this place. I must learn as it's going to catch up with me soon.
See you all soon :wave:0 -

mmm.....i wish i could, but i have been known to say it in my early twenty years. lol. once your the oldest, your always the oldest. my youngest little sister is 18, and i still look after her. sometimes i love it, sometimes "its not fair" - i guess its a girl thing!!!??Buttonmoons wrote: »Carla - I know she is 3, but the health visitor (who is a b****) mentioned her speech, and a "friend" once asked me if she had a speech impediment.....She doesn't! i think if it were me, i may give her some leeway until about halfway through nursery if u dont see any improvement on her language, then i migth ask for further help -- but thats only my pov!!
