Thanks :) Hmmmm, as you said the other night, they are expensive and I have 7 to buy gifts for. Can I justify Over £100 on one present
what is your total budget per child? If you normally spend £100 total tell her that she can either have 'fake' uggs and other stuff or just the real uggs. There's not very many round her that have the real deal so I doubt she'd be teased for having 'fake' ones :D (if she's got smallish feet you can save by getting 'kids' ones ;) I generally buy 'junior' trainers because they go up to a sz5 so I usually save about £15 for a pair :money:

    3. I opened 3 accounts for each of mine (just incase any go belly up!) Halifax Childrens Regular Saver is a good one, although the interest rate decreases after one year
you can open another halifax regular saver and start again though;) (possibly move the total at the end of the year to an account that you can use as the feeder account for the regular saver, bit of a faff but makes it more profitable I think)
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.

Oh oh oh. You've been on MSE too long :D

Good idea though and they've all had their accounts a while. I'm just not sure i'd want to open another 7  :rotfl:

Must look at other banks introductory offers as well.

I enquired about a saving account for Keira at Bank of Scotland the other day, but apparently my name would have to be on it? They have a savers account that pays 5% but only for a year and the minimum you can put in a month is £25, they also have a bigger higher interest one but you need £2500 to open it

The reason I asked about one is I don't want to put money in the CTF one she has, as it seems to be in stocks or something so she did have £500, but its £340 or something now, the woman at the bank said the finiancial advisor said stocks are going to go up, well they would say that wouldn't they! They want me to pop more money in there for them to play with, and anyways who knows what it would be worth when she is 18, I could stick 10k in that over the years and it may be worth a lot less by the time she is 18, think a savers account is best!

Don't touch the stocks. It's gambling in reality.

Safer to have a savers account with little interest. At least you know what you will get back.

  • I bought Benjamin this Very Hungry Caterpillar toy today:

    the-very-hungry-caterpillar-activity-toy-1101-p.jpg

Was stupidly expensive (£13.99!!!! we were in Waitrose  - the only supermarket I can get hubby to go into!!) but it is lovely...I just want the Butterfly to go with it now!

And the book of course - nobody is taking the hint and buying Benjamin the book!!!
