I know it's not for just now but something worth keeping in mind to ask/tell if you do decide to start lessons.
Thanks, though I wasn't thinking of lessons; think OH and I will just take him a couple of times a month. Incidentially, his breathing and lungs are just dandy.. as he's currently demonstrating by screaming in Daddy's ear(he's hungry, I've just taken his bottle in)
To quote the fab Bon Jovi, I'll sleep when I'm dead
Until I'm six feet under
I don't need a bed
Gonna live while I'm alive
I'll sleep when I'm dead
Till they roll me over
And lay my bones to rest
Gonna live while I'm alive
I'll sleep when I'm dead
I might cave in slightly before then!
ETA: Speaking of sleep, I was looking forward to a pyjama day tomorrow as it's our only day when we don't have to go out, but then my mum told me she's coming down to undercoat the bedroom doors so they're ready for dad glossing on Saturday. Really CBA but I need to show willing so it's easier for Dad (for whom I am eternally grateful for decorating my house!)0 -
Speaking of hair, Elijah loves it, it is a bit disturbing sometimes in fact! While BF he usually gently caresses OH's hair, and whenever he gets the chance with me he wraps his fists in my hair and tugs, or bites/chews it. He even got fascinated by OH's hairbrush and removing the old hairs tangled on it... :eek:0

I've just Googled it to make sure I didn't make it up and it seems that is the case. There are a few more suggestions here too.
Thanks for the link and your suggestion. I shall try that. If for any reason any of my girls come here, you aren't allowed to tell them you told me, okay? They must believe I worked it out for myselfchopsticks wrote: »
1) Is child benefit paid in advance or arrears? I have received £120 in the bank which the letter stated was for 6 weeks commencing 29th June. Those six weeks would have ended on 9th August. So, when do I receive the rest of August's money? Is it paid at the end of each month?
2) I didn't receive a child trust fund voucher with my child benefit confirmation letter. I thought I was supposed to. How did everyone else get theirs?
3) Has anyone opened a savings account for their LO? Are there any recommendations? I don't really want to add money to the CTF account as I would like to choose when to give her the money (i.e. for a first car, uni, towards house deposit) rather than her getting her mitts on it when she reaches 18 and possibly blowing it on holidays to Ibiza!
1) Mine is usually paid 4 weeks in arrears I believe. I have alot though. 16yo will lose hers, maybe already has, won't know until next payment. If you are a single parent you can apply for a weekly payment, although I never have.
2. Should be sent automatically once you claim child benefit
3. I opened 3 accounts for each of mine (just incase any go belly up!) Halifax Childrens Regular Saver is a good one, although the interest rate decreases after one year0 -

Ok since it quitish I'll post this I thought it was funny but it's maybe just my sense of humour
So, here's the story. . .
Tired of constantly being broke & stuck in an unhappy marriage, a young husband decided to solve both problems by taking out a large insurance policy on his wife with himself as the beneficiary, and then arranging to have her killed.
A 'friend of a friend' put him in touch with a nefarious dark-side underworld figure who went by the name of 'Artie.'
Artie then explained to the husband that his going price for snuffing out a spouse was £5,000.
The husband said he was willing to pay that amount, but that he wouldn't have any cash on hand until he could collect his wife's insurance money.
Artie insisted on being paid at least something up front, so the man opened his wallet, displaying the single £1 Coin that rested inside. Artie sighed, rolled his eyes, & reluctantly agreed to accept the £1 as down payment for the dirty deed.
A few days later, Artie followed the man's wife to the local Tesco Super Store. There, he surprised her in the produce department & proceeded to strangle her with his gloved hands & as the poor unsuspecting woman drew her last breath & slumped to the floor........
The manager of the produce department stumbled unexpectedly onto the murder scene. Unwilling to leave any living witnesses behind, ol' Artie had no choice but to strangle the produce manager as well.
However, unknown to Artie, the entire proceedings were captured by the hidden security cameras & observed by the store's security guard, who immediately called the police. Artie was caught & arrested before he could even leave the store.
Under intense questioning at the police station, Artie revealed the whole sordid plan, including his unusual financial arrangements with the hapless husband who was also quickly arrested.
The next day in the newspaper, the headline declared...
(You're going to hate me for this ... )
